I will look forward to playing a "slideshow" then! :D
-
Standard for me. :/
-
Lol Kurt!
After I grab a 9800 Pro and another pc2700 512mb stick of Crucial I\'ll be in "optmal" territory but I\'m sure it could always run smoother! I wonder if the HL2 requirements are as rigid.
-
I am on the high end of standard... damn those sys requirements are brutal.
-
I have a feeling HL2 will be more merciful...

I hope.. sammy i olny hope :(

Will I\'m going to have to wait to get it on the Xbox
-
Optimal for me. Excellent. I still think those are ridiculous for a game.
What one has to realize about HL2 and Doom3 is that HL2 is all about graphical style and not about pushing the most polys. Doom3 does nothing BUT push polys like crazy and thus requires a whole lot more to look as impressive as possible and run smoothly. It\'s like Halo 2, a game that looks AMAZING, but also takes far less to run than the first Halo on xbox because they\'ve optimized the hardware to do things they never thought of before.
-
I have a Geforce 2:(
-
Glad they posted them. Now I know what to build for the game.
-
Optimal here. I\'m glad a game is coming out with reqs like this... I don\'t think all games should, cause it would be unfair to the majority, but it\'s nice to have a really system-pushing game come out once in a while.
-
I thought I saw somewhere that HL2 will compensate for your PC for speed etc......
:hat:ScottyJ:hat:
-
It\'s been delayed.
Bummer.
-
Standard here, but who knows, till it\'s launched i can choose optimal :)

:( you think thats bad? I have a TNT2 and and ATI Rage thats so old i couldnt even run panty raider on minimal lol (an exaggeration). I really need to build a new computer. Mine is so old but it runs damn well for its age. 312mb SDRAM 1.01GHz (oc\'ed), and 35 gig maxtor thats full. SIS 16 meg Vid card in this comp. TNT2 in my HP. Bad i know

Why is a GForce3 in the same class as the Radeon 9600pro?
-
Ryu: Doom III isn\'t actually pushing that many polygons. A lot of its details are carefully placed effects, like bump-mapping. I\'m not sure what to say about HL2 in this regard.. Can you hear me now? Good..

From running the Alpha its the lighting that really kills it. But it looks sooooo nice.
-
The Alpha looked pretty polygon intensive from the models, but hey, that was an alpha afterall. On the Geforce 4 4600 when I ran it, I held it at 35-40FPS with no action and 15-25 with action. That was all unoptimized Alpha code though so I\'m sure with the Radeon 9800 Pro that I now have, I can at least push 60FPS constantly. :)
