Looks like Kobe may be going down. Hard to believe he\'d be thrown in jail for life, but who knows. It sounds like he may very well get something. Looks a lot worse that I originally thought.

I think that Kobe won\'t be convicted, the girl probably made a mistake or was trying to get back at him for something. Maybe she fell in love and had to be with him and couldn\'t except the fact he didn\'t want her after he did what he wanted with her, but then again basketball stars have a tendency to do these things alot, so who knows.

I don\'t know much about court. So is he going to get jail time, or are they going to court. And can he get out on bail with what hes being charged with?

It really doesn\'t matter, Kobe will not get anything. We will never truly know what happened that night, but Kobe will get off (no pun intended). He will go to court, they will somehow dismiss the case the Jury will find him not guilty, etc, but something will happen and he will not see any Jail Time. The young girl will get some money thrown her way no matter what happens.
If she made it up, she will still get her pay day and it will be pathetic as Kobe\'s name is dragged through the mud needlessly (Although he did sleep around on his wife, therefor maybe not so needlessly).
If Kobe did do what she is claiming, then He should be locked away for life regardless of who he is, but the sad fact is he will get off in some manor. I mean when was the last time you have really seen an All-Star Athlete (first time conviction) ever get major jail time.
No matter what happened we may well never know what really happened that night. It is probably a combination of the two stories, both sides are probably only telling partial sides of the story. In either scenario, the girl will never live this down and Kobe\'s name will always be associated with this incident. So neither side really wins

If he truly forced himself on her and if she truly was totally distraught after the situation then I would certainly say the dude should have something happen to him. There are much better people in the world then people who feel like they have to degrade women by forcing themslves on them.
I think it\'s funny though that you guys just assume he is innocent and that she is making it up.
Well, I don\'t know if funny is the right word.

I guess I\'m in that crowd of those in "denial". The guy has everything he could want, a wife, a family, NBA stardom, why would he risk it all for some skanky hotel clerk in Colorado? There was no physical evidence of torn clothing, bruises, or any marks that show any signs of sexual assault.
However, has Kobe admitted to sleeping with her? In a statement he said something along the lines that he regrets commiting the act of adultery. So apparently they did sleep together, and what\'s under question now is whether it was against her will or not.
More than likely, this is a chick who wants Kobe. Kobe could get any chick he wanted, he has no reason to steal sex when I\'m sure it\'s laid out in front of him wherever he goes.
And that, from a Lakers fan point of view, is my 2 cents.

Ofcourse, you think because he\'s an allstar and whatnot he shouldnt get the shaft. But maybe there is some sense in what he said, I mean if people these days didnt let bad morals slip by as often then things would be a whole lot different. Personally I think it could make sense for his ass to get booted out of the NBA but it wont happen because as long as he can score points then he isnt going anywhere. I\'m just playing devil\'s advocate here. I believe she is probably blowing it out of proportion as well to get some cashola, but you never know. It could be real and justified.
He\'s just a basketball player who makes a ton of cash playing a game.

Personally, I don\'t really care which way the ruling in this trial goes. If it is ruled that he\'s guilty, and he goes to jail for it, GOOD. I\'m sick and tired of celebrities getting out of jail time when normal people for the same crime wouldn\'t be able to. If they can prove he\'s guilty, I hope they throw him in jail for a good long time. Even if he\'s innocent, he is getting nothing here that he doesn\'t deserve. He has been cheating on his wife and such, so dragging his perfect reputation through the dirt a bit isn\'t so awful.

I just heard from a legal analyst, that if found guilty he will more than likely get 8 years in prison, even though he\'s a star. So basically, his career would be over.

I don\'t post any more personal attacks than any other person. And frankly why would it even matter.........I\'m going through something else in my life and I realize that forums are so insignificant. Also, I said that for the shear fact that Vivi was acting as if he was considered GUILTY already. The trial hasn\'t happened yet.

Please don\'t turn this into a "sport bashing" thread. If anything putting a ball through a circle is just as mindless as ice-skating with a stick and hitting around a chunk of plastic trying to get it into another net.
This goes for all athletes, movie stars, and others who share the limelight. With fame, comes attention.

Everything was going so right for Kobe in the press.. it was about time he got a wake up call for himself. He ain\'t perfect and he needs to watch what he\'s doing, especially since he\'s arguably the most popular NBA star.

My problem with you is your behavior, plain and simple. I\'m not going to waste my time collecting a dossier of posts you made. I\'ve been observing it for more than two years. There are some people here (not just me) telling you what you\'re doing wrong. Instead of making excuses, maybe you should consider changing your behavior.

Sorry to throw fuel to the fire and send this thread off course, but I like Bozco, and I\'ve been attacked by him before. He says things how it is without any sugar-coatings, Vivi\'s comment wasn\'t remotely funny or necessary. I say kudos to Boz for putting Vivi in his place.
