Title: How do I replace USB ports??
Post by: juslight on July 28, 2003, 09:01:00 AM
My house has been hit by lightning and the surge traveled through my ethernet and now the usb ports on my Tivo do not work.  Does anyone here know where I can find replacement usb ports?

Here is a page with pictures of the inside of my tivo:

How exactly did you figure out that the damage was limited to the USB ports?  Seems a bit illogical.

It was not limited to just the usb ports. It also took out my cable modem, router, PC\'s network card and everything else on the network.

I replaced everything, including the Linksys 10/100M usb ethernet adapter that was connected to the tivo\'s usb ports.  The power lights on the adapter do not turn on when connected to the tivo, however when connected to any other usb device, (PC/PS2), the lights work.

you could try mouser.com or digikey.com they have USB and other electronic parts.
