Out, in the street, in the shade: 48º.
Under the sun: 56º.
INHUMANE

The US will eventually swith to the metric system. Makes more sense.
0 celcius = freezing point of water or 32 F
Adan\'s room is 44 C = 111.2 F
100 celcuis = boing point of water or 212 F
Adan, do you live in the attic? That\'s HOT!

I think Australia should take over a Winter retreat....like France. :p

Adan i know how u feel, i\'m just happy that its windy today (reduces the temp a bit). if it wasnt for the A/C i\'d have collapsed many a time.
-
I just got back from Barcelona - omg so bloody hot!!, burned 2 aweee, and my arms hurt like hell from playing 2 much eyetoy!!! =]
-

There was a powercut on the whole of Majorca last week when i was there, for 6 hours, it was so hot and all the air conditioning units were on so ther was a poweer oveload thingy - lolee =]
-
PS2, Barcelona and Mayorca are cold places compared to the south. Powercuts are frequent in this year\'s time: many A/C, many restaurant, many refrigerators... many tourists... sometimes the power centrals cannot supply the vast amount of energy that is needed and the service collapses.
Of course, if I hadn\'t A/C, I would have died many years ago. Just notice that for 2 consecutive nights we\'ve been sleeping at 28ºC (that\'s impossible to bear without A/C).
-
Adan, your my hero...
I would be dead within minutes in that temperature.
In my room its "just" 30*C now..
I will not be able to sleep tonight. :(

Just imagine only 80 years ago, AC was still in its infancy and everyone had to deal the with heat with hand fans, electric fans and ceiling fans. :) In fact, after the AC was more in use, building and home designs changed!
-
its pretty common here in phx, az to run between 45 degrees celsius ( 113 F) and as high as 49 degrees celsius (120 F) in the summertime... whew that was hard to calculate
of course today its cool at 37°/26° (98°/79°) and 30% humidity we are having the monsoons
-
Apparently the UK is in for a heatwave next week, should reach around 30 C.

We\'re suffering that heatwave Kurt... you lucky english won\'t reach 40º.

yesterday was about 112 here, luckily I had the ac going from the early morning so my house never got hot.
-
I guess i\'m lucky since my apartment is half underground it stays cool as long as I keep the windows shut and the blinds closed. My friends consider my apartment a cave, but I like only paying a $35 utility bill every month (it would be well over $150 a month if I ran air-conditioning all the time).
and I do have central air... but I haven\'t had to use it yet as we haven\'t gotten above 95 degrees so far this summer.

I don\'t think that will happen for a long time. Americans are lazy and these calculations will drive the average (atleast me :) ) crazy. I can\'t ever see my life in the metric system. I live my life by inches, degrees F, yards, ect. But I guess we use more or less both. I use meters, cm, grams. I never use km and stuff when driving. So really, we are bisystem kind of people. Enough of my rambling for now :bounce:
-
High School Chemistry was tough because we had to use the metric system :p
-
I didn\'t learn anything in chemistry :(
-
I learned if you drink the purple stuff, it tastes like burning.

At least, measures should be unified in the world. It\'s problematic to be calculating distances, weights...

Humidity is everything. In the summer here in Texas its usually in the upper 100\'s but I went to Iowa where it was like 90 but the humidity made it 3x worse than Texas. My dad said he once went out to grill hamburgers with a polyester shirt and it was SOAKED in 15 mins.
