Rubix cube online.

God I remember when everyone had these.  I also remember getting frustrated and just peeling the damn stickers off.

My mate took his one apart and put it back together again. Apparently it is quite easy to do.
But yea, he went to school the next day and showed everyone his completed Rubix Cube. He was a real chick magnet after that

That is what I did with mine, and yes it is easy to do, you just had to get a fork and stick in in the gaps, then prise them out. You had to be careful though, because there was a bit in the middle that held the centre squares together, and if you broke that, you were bolloxed.

Aparently, they are making a comeback, one of those 80\'s revival crazes that go round from time to time, a bit like yo-yo\'s.

I still had my rubix cube up until about 5 years ago, it got lost when we moved.

Just another thing, anyone remember any of the other rubix puzzles? Remember the rubix snake? it was a long line of triangular blocks, that could be rotated into any countless number of shapes, like a ball, or a cross, or......... nope, that\'s all I can remember doing.

Then there was a barrel shaped one, that had coloured shapes, that slid up and down, then you would rotate the barrel, and try to get all the colours on the same part.

Oh, the memories.

Virtual cubes will be more hard to peel the stickers off :)

I was always pulling mine apart to complete it. I used to laugh at the geeky kids on TV that could complete it in about 10 seconds.

I also had the rubiks snake and the rubiks magic where you had to make the olympic rings these were very easy though, nothing like the difficulty of the cube..

Yeah, and that one as well. I also remember seeing something on record breakers once, about a group of kids who could do the cube just by using their feet, annoying little schitts, fancy going onto a tv show to show off something like that!!.

Mr Rubik must have made an absolute fortune of his puzzles.

28 seconds that was my record - no matter how much someone mixed it up  I could solve it in less than a minute but the 28 seconds was my record! Um by the way that was without any sticker taking off business.

Is there an exact method/formula for getting right? Or was it just pure luck and chance?

A friend of mine can solve it under a minute also, and yes there is a formula to do it.  hell he can even spell "ohio" on the damn thing......some people have too much time on their hands.

If someone knows it, or knows a link to a place that shows it, please post it, as I\'ve always been curious as how to do it.

Well let me tell you that record I told you about when I was like 12-15 years old back in the day when the rubic cube just came out and I could just see it after a while I dunno I would spin the cube around and just see or imagine where everything would turn.... IM NOW 30 and tried the rubic cube again within the last year and could not even do it! I must have supressed that portion of my mind.

Oh MY God... You might be right all these years I was afraid it was all the masturbating but it could have most definalty been the actionscripting too.

Holy hell.  People could actually get the entire cube to match up??

I could do a single side in under a minute, but that\'s the extent of it.

Has anybody ever seen the Rubix Pyramids are w/e? Actually I dont think they carry the name Rubix but it\'s the exact same idea except your using a pyramid. A whole lot easier than the cube mind you.

They also have Rubix rings and a pen.  I felt like the cool kid at school with the pen

We took apart a rubix cube at work and it took like 2 hours for us to get it together. We got it together but one peice wouldn\'t go in. We then found out after we got it together that someone switched two of the stickers and was the reason they couldn\'t solve it.
