Title: Need help uninstalling IE plugin
Post by: fastson on August 13, 2003, 10:07:11 AM
My brother "accidentally" installed some Internet Explorer Plugin from MP3.com (I think he said) .. Its some sort of annoying toolbar underneath the regular address bar.

I\'ve tried disabling it in the VIEW->TOOLBARS menu, but it keeps turning itself back on all the time.

It also installed some Music Search software that appears in the activity bar. I want to delete BOTH because they keep opening other windows that I didnt request and changing my Startpage. Bloody annoying.

What to do? I\'ve tried searching for the file but I cant find it. I also tried Ad-Aware but that didnt help!

Run Spybot and it should detect it.  More likely than not it\'s Spyware.  They should also have a tutorial on mp3.com on how to remove their bar.

Oh and if you want extra performance turn sys restore off!

Thanks for the advice, but I better leave it enabled, especially when you have two uninformed brothers in the house :p

I myself am prefect..
