Alright - Peter Jackson\'s epic sequel \'Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers\' comes out on the the 26th or midnight for most people..Who is goin\' to pick it up? I\'m debating if I want to go ahead and go to Wal-mart at midnight and get the 2-DISC version or wait for the 4-disc Extended Edition, that comes out 11/18/03..Or get both of \'em? Choices, choices...Argh!
What\'s everyone else planning to do?
-
I\'ll get the Extended Edition. i\'ll hire the normal to keep me happy till then. :)
-
Extended edition. It\'s just a movie. GO rent it, then buy it in november. It needs to match the disc I already have so I\'m not mixing and matching. Bring on the big whopper in Nov.
-
I don\'t rent movie\'s. Ever...
-
^^^
You probably could have saved a lot of money.
-
Rent normal.
Buy Extended.
-
Well, how many times do you plan on watching the movie before 11/18?
You could rent the thing 3 times and still save money.
But I forgot, you are too cool to be cought in a video store. Whatever that\'s all about.
-
i\'ll rent tomorow, buy in november the extended version. when #1 came out, i bought the 1st version, then i had to buy the extended version. waste of my money :(
-
I\'ll buy it for $14.99... then give it to my boss for x-mas & buy the mega super thingy.

What is that all about? When have I said that? I haven\'t.
Personally, I plan on watchin\' it quite abit. I love \'Fellowship of the Ring\' and I like \'The Two Towers\' even more so - I imagine it\'ll get quite a few viewings..
I don\'t rent. When I had VHS , I would rent, but since I got a DVD player (years ago) I have yet to rent a single disc. I don\'t like dealing with scratched discs and all that other good stuff. Sure, as I look around at about 500 + DVD\'s, I could of saved some money on the 400 or so that I have only watched once - but oh well. It\'s not like DVD\'s are all that expensive...
-
Im gonna do the smart thing:
Wait until they pump as much money out of this thing the "extended version", the "extended directers cut" version, and the "extended directers cut music video version" ... etc
and when they get the regular LOTR 1,2,3 on DVD buy it that way. Much better, amazing how much money they are making off this.
-
It is a pain in the ass dealing with scratched up rental DVDs with dried snot on the case and all. The real truth is I\'m too cool to go into a video store.
I have the extended edition on preorder, and I can wait for it.
What I\'m REALLY looking forward to is another little gem I have on preorder. To be released 9/8/03....
WHERE EAGLES DARE
Believe it people. :D

ya... not much for 1... but you\'ve spent around $7500 on dvd\'s!
-
Dizam-
you should send me some ;)
Spread the wealth
-
I\'ve had the GOOD QUALITY dvd a month after the movie came out.
I\'m still picking up the extended version though. ;)
-
All those complaining about there being "extended editions" - look on the bright side - you at least know ahead of time.
And seven grand is a light number on my collection, when you take Criterion\'s, OOP\'s, box set\'s and other price varations, I would imagine the collection is around ten grand..
-shrugs-
You guy\'s should visit DVDTALK.com where the guy\'s on that board have upwards of a thousand and more. \'
-
Man... arent you guys gonna be pissed when the next format comes a long and dvds become obsolete?
-
No wonder why you don\'t have any friends. :(
:)
-
Im buying this version, I hope to have it today :)
-
I\'ll buy this one. I hate the idea of changing discs in between the movie.
-
I am holding it in my hot little hands right now!!!!
WHEEEEEEE!!!!!!! :D :D :bounce:
-
It came out on friday in the UK.
-

-
I got mine, very nice. Going to watch it later or tomorrow. :)
I just saw the RoTK preview on the "bonus disc", looks good.
-
I will also buy the final 3 movie set... which includes a sperm sample from viggo mortensen, and one of liv tyler\'s pubic hairs...
-
I\'d do it for the pubes
-

-
I\'ll do it for the sperm.
Actually I\'m getting the extended version. Already got the extended version of FOTR and I don\'t plan on skimping on it now.
-
I ended up borrowing my friends copy and watchin\' it, to tide me over..
God bless this series.
Oh yeah and \'The Howling: SE\' came out today..Woohooo!
Edit : My mother went ahead and picked it up . On the other hand, I got \'The Howling: SE\' and going to start my collection of the classic Universal monster movies..They are OOP and goin\' for around $200.
-
The classic Universal Monsters went to a bit of an extreme. Didn\'t abbot and costello even have a movie with the wolfman??? or was it frankenstein.
-
They did - but it is not considered part of the Universal Monster\'s movies.
It was Frankenstein , btw.
