Title: Never underestimate a bird
Post by: Titan on August 28, 2003, 10:25:19 AM
I got home today at like 2 oclock. My brother comes up and asks "why is the bird flying around the house?". I looked in the cage and sure enough one parakeet was MIA (i have two). I noticed that they took down the two mirrors blocking a hole in the cage. Then I saw the thing running around. I then remembered something from scout camp a few years ago. We were catching chipmunks ina  box trap. I realized my parakeets absolutely would love millet. I have some somewhere and was gonna put it under a basket held up by a stick. When he flew under, he would be trapped after I pulled the string. But before I can do that, he flew from downstairs to the kitchen. I was trying to chase him back downstairs but he ended up hitting the wall and fell into a corner blocked by a milk jug. I put my hands around him. I think he knew there was no escape because he didn\'t really try to fly out. I just scooped him up in my hands. He bit and man can he bite. But I just picked him up and placed him in the cage. I wasn\'t even mad. He\'s such a cute little thing :ghey: I\'m just glad the other one didn\'t escape. He\'s a fighter and he bites really really hard. I thought I should post that incase any of you have parakeets at home and to learn that they are smart little things.

omen, I was camping once and we got bored so we trapped chipmunks and released them. The box trap seems to work. Besides, Bugs bunny doen\'st know how to use it :)

Hey...how come mm doesn\'t make the same comments he does about ~MY~ threads! You know....like "My dog scratched his balls so I thought I\'d post it in OT" and he\'ll go make a comment about how ghey my thread is.

:p
