Dude leaves briefcase on car.
Dude has thousands of euros in it.
Euros fly out.
Dude who picks up Euros could be charged with Larceny?
Shouldn\'t he be applauded for cleaning up the litter? If someone through a BK cup out a window and I stopped and picked it up, would I be charged or applauded? Only difference is the worth of the two different items.

Raining cash sparks traffic jam
From correspondents in Berlin
September 4, 2003
IT began raining cash on the German autobahn, leading to a major traffic jam and road closure, police said.
A 42-year-old motorist left a briefcase full of tens of thousands of euros in cash on the roof of his car and drove off onto the highway in the western city of Bochum, sending the bills flying.
Because drivers stopped their vehicles in the middle of the road to collect the money, the autobahn was blocked for about 10 minutes.
Of the original sum, police were only able to recover about 3,000 euros.
The briefcase was missing and police were searching for a man who was seen collecting dozens of "brightly colored notes" on the highway.
A police spokesman said the man could be charged with larceny for not reporting the find.
It was not clear why the driver had such a large sum of cash with him.

Well see with this its not only the value but the fact that the BK cup was being thrown away conciously by the person who used it as opposed to somebody misplacing something they didnt mean to get rid of. I dont agree that they should be looking for this guy but im just playing the devils advocate. The guy with the briefcase is an idiot.
Anyway, I dont see why they are just looking for one person if he didnt take ALL the money. Theres just no way he could have.

OK, what if dude 1 was getting into car and set his BK cup on the roof half full of Coke.
Cup falls off.
Dude 2 picks it up.
Now what?
-
Why would you drive around with money on top of your car?

It would be the same because all that dude 1 wanted (the beverage) is gone and neither of them can salvage it, so if guy 2 wants the cup then guy 1 could care less because all that he was in for was the coke.
If guy two wanted the coke then hes just a dumbass for thinking there would be coke left after it fell off the car.
-
OK, what if it wasn\'t a cup. What if it was a bottle and it still contained coke.
Coke that has value. Cool. Refreshing.
Does Dude 2 really have to turn the Coke into the police to help return it to Dude 1?
Only difference here is the value of said coke and said Euro.

NIcon, don\'t think too much into the question. Don\'t over analyze it and look for the point Vid was saying. Lets say Dude 1 left it on his car. It fell off, unopened, and Dude 2 was thirsty and took it off the road. What vid is trying to say is that the Coke is like the money. The guy lost it and its up for grabs and doesn\'t need police involvement. Thats what I got out of it anyway.
-
And the fact that coke is tasty.
I think it\'s dishonorable for the dude to not call the cops about the cash, but to charge him with a crime is what I think is wrong.

I think there\'s only one moronic quote in there.
One funny quote (taken out of context)
and one unintelligible quote. (no offense koppy, don\'t ever change! [despite what uncle vid sez ;) ])

I feel honored for being in your sig. Seriously, I mean it :)
I didn\'t realize until it was in your sig how people probably took it out of context

Titan im just screwing around. Chill. Its also a money issue. If somebody drops something of value like a wallet or a watch people expect you to report it. A coke? thats nothing. But seriously, i think its stupid to penalize that man for picking up the money. I think the Gov\'t is just greedy.
