Sammy Studios has today announced that it will release Drift Racer: Kaido Battle for the PlayStation 2 in February 2004. The game, which is currently in development at Genki, will feature more than 150 licensed cars and is inspired by the now legitimate sport of drift racing. The sport itself started out as an underground race form where drivers would perform precision powerslides on the treacherous mountain roads of Japan known as the Kaido.

Post by: ##RaCeR## on September 06, 2003, 10:23:43 PM: I\'m loving that leaf scatter shot. I seen a vid of that, and it really does look that cool in game. It also features things like real time fog (which looks incredbily cool as it drifts over things) and small flying bugs and birds etc.

Adan its not even the same genre so it doesnt directly compete with gt4. I saw these a little while ago. The initial D game looks good too (im a huge I-D fanboy) but ive played it in arcades and i was pretty dissapointed. I saw movies of the console version and it looked like it played a bit better. Lets just hope

most people just choose their game like they choose their movies at blockbuster ie: they pick up the one that as most showing on the shelves. who gives a shit about the genre? it as a nice car on the box dad
