Post by: GmanJoe on September 14, 2003, 07:34:00 AM: I thought Oscar won too. But I think I know why the judges gave the dge to Shane. Oscar threw a lot of punches in the first 5 rounds. After that, he seemed to have gotten a bit winded and threw less to conserve energy. Shane began to land more frequently but still on spurts. Also, the body language of Oscar seemed to say he was more tired of the two. Plus getting rocked in the 9th and 11th didn\'t help him much either.

EDIT : Pernell Whitaker looked like he won when he fought Oscar but the decision went to Oscar.

Yes, he should have won. But it\'s boxing, so who knows why these things actually happen. This sport really needs to be cleaned up.

Every single person I\'ve talked to or seen talk about the fight scored or saw it as Mosley.

He did land more punches. The judges had Mosley winning all those later rounds, but I think a couple should go to Oscar.

Most? Kellerman and the other guy that watched the fight saw it as Mosley, were confused on what Oscar was whining about, and every other sports analyst I\'ve seen has said Mosley too.

Here\'s an example of someone who thought this was Oscar\'s fight by several rounds (http://msn.espn.go.com/boxing/news/2003/0913/1615442.html). I tend to agree a lot more with that view of the fight.

Looks like a lot of sports writers saw Mosely winning the fight as well.
