Gamespot review: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/freedomthebattleforli/review.html
Its a excellent game, lots of action, nice graphics, good AI (you actually trust your team-mates! I’ve only had a problem with the AI once, and that was when we were suppressed by a Hind helicopter.), solid frame rate and a interesting story line. :)

Everyone get this game! :D
-
Is this game out in the US? Looks to me like it isn\'t due out until October 1st here.
-
I have both games in my hands now. I\'ll give some impressions later on today when I have the time to really play them. I\'ll start a new thread for Zero Hour though. I won\'t hijack your thread, Fastson. :)
-
Ryu do you live in the US? If so where did you get this game?
-
Ryu: Its okay, you can post impressions here if you want.. :)
I completed the game earlier today, KICK ARSE.. One of the best games this year.
In the end I got 10 recruits (of 12 possible, only 10 because I missed a POW camp in the earlier missions.)
10 of your guys versus 20 Russians or so (the game can handle a lot of people onscreen without dropping a single frame. Infact I cant remember any framedrops in the game), hell will break lose!
-
2 days to complete it ? sounds like it\'s a very short game.

Well, most games are \'short\' if you just want to finish it ASAP.

3 days, but I\'ve played it a lot.
Sure it could have been longer, but the length was all right for a action game. (GS estimated 8-12 hours, I don’t know how long I spent though, somewhere there) :)

I never have this much fun since Rogue Spear and Rainbow 6.Anyway, if you assign order to a soldier to"defend that area" how do you change orders to that particular guy without affecting the other guys?
Thanks, i don\'t think i\'ll get a response in the Hints Section , sorry for the inconvenience.
-
You\'ll generally only want to use the scout and fall back commands essentially, but when you use them, you want to use your guys as one entity, a team with the mentality that if one goes, everybody goes. You\'ll notice a dramatic increase in effectiveness using them in this way. Generally speaking, save for areas where soldiers are transported in constantly, once you clear an area, it\'s cleared forever and you\'ll never need or want to go back to it making defending an area pointless. Besides, the AI in your squad is always smart enough to take out any close by threats as they come in so asking them to defend is about the same as asking them to cover you or follow you at all times.
-
Replayability? Is this going to wind up next to my Brute Force disc after I finish it?
-
There is none other than playing it again on a harder difficulty. One time is a charm. Unfortunately, this game looks absolutely PERFECT for co-op online multiplayer, and yet it is not supported for that. So damn unfortunate.
-
I cannot believe i took the enemy\'s bait. He was the last guy in that last area , we besiege his checkpoint wiping out all the guards but he manage to sprint and i started chasing him and leave behind my 4 men.
Feeling confident that i can take this fugitive down by myself, when suddenly 5 Russians came out of an alley including the fugitive... charging at me with guns blazing, there was no time to retreat or heal...they got me.
It was fun though by the way i play " Do You Have What It Takes " difficulty and this is already pretty challenging.
-
I have the PC version and I just can\'t see playing this without the mouse and keyboard.
BTW, this game is the best I have played in a while that has kept me addicted.
-
I beat it last night and enjoyed every second of it. I\'ll post here what I put in my blog.
I just completed Freedom Fighters and it was definitely worth the trip. About mid way through and at the end, they definitely attempted to create a much more epic story and feel to the game, but it was bogged down because the developers never bothered to elaborate on the characters and really emphasize just what each person meant to one another, IE, their interpersonal relationships. Sure, I can read between the lines at the end, but that\'s the end, as in after the portion where those elements are most critical, but I just might be being over critical of the situation. It is just a computer game after all.
Per usual in regards to PC games, getting there was all the fun and this game had tons of it. I\'ll never forget the moment I first found a rocket launcher and proceeded to use it on a helicopter bringing it down to its new fiery grave on the streets of New York. I\'ll never forget the moment when I first discovered that there were tanks in the game and how I felt when it cranked its turret around and took aim right at my face. I\'ll never forget the first time I exploded a Molotov cocktail outside of an APC and watched the soldiers pour out of it into a scorched grave.
It\'s the little things that make life worth living.
All in all, I give Freedom Fighters a cool 4/5 happy faces. It\'s currently out now for the PS2, Xbox, GCN, and the PC. If you have the rig, I highly recommend the PC version because it is definitely excellent and cheap!

wow souns really good, hve ben thinking of getting a new gam, either this or mace griffin??!! if that is the name, which one i better???
-
Freedom Fighters takes place in an alternate reality that never saw the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Instead, the Red threat has continued to grow since the end of World War II, taking hold in countries as close to home as Cuba and Mexico. The game opens with the plumbing team of Chris and Troy Stone paying a visit to the clogged sink of Isabella Angelina, who also happens to be a vocal member of a watchdog organization devoted to informing the American public about the evils of the Soviet Union. The duo enters her apartment to find that it has been hastily evacuated, and soon after, Soviet troops bust in to try to find her, only to capture Troy instead. The Soviet invasion of the US has begun.
oooooo cool story. :D
-
I can\'t believe it, we are gaining grounds when the soviets bring on the tank and the shell blast kill us all 7 of us.This is embarassing moment for the commander, i should have stayed on that tower.Being a hero doesn\'t pay.....
Anyway , on later stages... don\'t go in cluster , spread out, yep thats the key word.

Well i havent played Freedom Fighters but i have played Mace Griffin. It was alright despite some doubt but i was let down a little bit. For a FPS its pretty decent in length but you will be sorely dissapointed by the poor vehicular combat (ie space). The controls are pretty unconventional and some opponents move pretty quickly, so modifying your speed is like a manual trans in chicago traffic. Not to mention that your list of weaponry is extremely limited.
You do get to fly multiple ships, though there arent too many differences. I enjoyed it really, but from the reviews on this board it seems that FF would be the better buy.
-
That portion with the tank was easily my favorite. I was actually hiding from it behind a box and they had yet to see me, but I had one of my soldiers "following" me and he ran from his previous position straight to mine. Suffice it to say, I needed a new head afterwards.
-
Let me ask this... is the stage on Governers Island after the you sack the TV station the last one? I sure as hell hope not.
-
The mission with the tank WAS the TV station mission.
-
well i bought a xbox and halo cheap , and was liek a week old, god damn working where i do is great
-
How the **** does that have to do with anything koppy?
-
as i was asking if i shoud get it, or mace griffin,
-
yeah, but you buying an xbox has nothing to do with mace griffin, or freedom fighters??!!!!!!
-
are there only 3 maps for multiplayer?
-
Just rented it....This game rocks.....
