Title: EBay Scam
Post by: videoholic on September 26, 2003, 05:06:29 AM
What\'s so sad is that there are people out there that would fall for this if they received in in their email.

http://211.217.224.102:4901/update/index.htm

We ought to fill it out with bogus info.

ARGH!

I bet you anything I got sent this e-mail and my mother filled it out. I tried to buy something on Ebay lastnight and my account had been hijacked. Had to go get another e-mail address and register again.

Damn bastards.

I wonder if anyone would be stupid enough to give out their social security number.  There\'s no reason anyone needs that, except for important matters like loan applications.  Also, date of birth is never needed for any legitimate purpose.  I always give out a false date of birth if it\'s required.

Ha, that\'s not even the stupidest thing on there if you ask me.  ATM PIN #?  If anyone fills that out, I\'m sorry, but you deserve to lose some money.

Good grief!

If it were real it would tell you that you were entering a secure area etc, and the padlock icon would appear at the bottom right of the screen.

I always trust sites with just an IP number. It just has to be part of ebay.com.
