Did any of you see what he said? I would have liked to have seen the people on the desk after he said that.
He really didn\'t seem to work for the show anyway. THey kept him over in his little corner, they didn\'t listen to much of what he had to say, and it was just down right awkward.

Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh resigned from ESPN tonight, three days after saying Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.
``My comments this past Sunday were directed at the media and were not racially motivated,\'\' Limbaugh said in a statement. ``I offered an opinion. This opinion has caused discomfort to the crew, which I regret.
``I love `NFL Sunday Countdown\' and do not want to be a distraction to the great work done by all who work on it,\'\' Limbaugh said.
George Bodenheimer, president of ESPN and ABC Sports, accepted the resignation.
``We regret the circumstances surrounding this,\'\' he said in a statement. ``We believe that he took the appropriate action to resolve this matter expeditiously.\'\'
Earlier today, Democratic presidential candidates Wesley Clark, Howard Dean and Rev. Al Sharpton called for the cable sports network to fire Limbaugh.

HOLY cow. I can\'t make two Rush Limbaugh threads in one day, but he is being investigated for allegedly buying thousands of addictive painkillers from a black-market drug ring.
Granted this is coming from the NYDN, but still this dude is not having a good week.

Atleast some people are realizing that just because he said that doesn\'t make him a bigot or a racist.
-
I had no clue why ESPN brought him in, in the first place... Wasn\'t he a politics goon?
-
He was originally long ago in sports though. He also talks about sports on his radio show every once and a while.

Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot. :)
He needs to install a filter between brain and mouth.

Yeah Vid, I was watching ESPN when he said that. TJ and Steve had a confused look on their face like they didn\'t know exactly what to say. Irvin looked the same as always and they didn\'t even show Boomer.
My main problem with what he said is that it doesn\'t even make sense. He said that its the media implementing some social spin and giving McNabb credit that he doesn\'t deserve because they want a successful black QB. He felt that McNabb was getting credit for the play of the Defense.
My thing is:
1) Why would the media need to construct a successful black QB? I\'m not understanding who this benefits?
2) McNabb\'s stats definately do not say overrated. Stats wise he is far from average.

The idea of a black quarterback being something special is long gone. These aren\'t the days of Doug Williams. There are and have been many successful black quarterbacks.
Personally I think Rush was trying to drum up controversy with his comments, but I think it may have just backfired on him.

he\'s now saying if the drugs were on a white market, he would never have bought them
-
The media wouldn\'t be blowing it so out of proportion if he bought them on the white market. Freaking media.
-
Here\'s my favorite part. Clark, Sharpton and the rest of the non-authority-having goobers telling people what to do. Blow it out your "hopeful" butt.

Haha... Howard Stern this morning was great... They cracked on Limbaugh so hard... I drove to school in tears of laughter.
