After all, why would anyone put a source code worth multi million bucks and the soul of the company on to a machine with access to the Web!!! They should just put it onto a closed network!!

The code also contain propriatery codes and trade secrets from other companies. If they sue Valve for mismanaging their property, they\'ll be in bigger trouble than a leaked source code.

im starting to wonder if the leak is really even true - first its pushed back to holidays and then a convient leak and its back to april - wtf its a third of the code so why does it take 4 more months

that and any damage that can be done is already in affect why go back to redo the code anyway

seems to me they just arent thinking - why even have the source on a open network

Then he said he was going to release the full source if they dont stop lying.

Either way, dont waste your time downloading the beta. Its buggy as hell (duh), has few playable maps, most of the maps are just there to test a few things, like squad AI, weapons and so on.

i never signed anything saying i wouldnt use this software and i didnt copy anything - its illegal for people to give it to me though

like if my friend dls songs and gives me a cd of them - he did the act not i so it shouldnt hold up on me

I don\'t think that holds in court... at least here in Denmark it\'s illegal to buy/otherwise-get-hold-of illegal goods. But perhaps it different over there... dunno. But I\'d be surprised.

anyway im not worried about me getting the shaft or taken to court over the beta release - i didnt hack it and they got lots of things to work on with the game from what ive played although the physics and ai are awesome
