I saw something on ebay that a guy was selling: a USB network adapter that you could use instead of the Playstation Online to connect to your broadband. It\'s a simple USB to Network Cable (RG 59, or whatever), then it says he will email instructions. Is it possible to hook it up this way? Would you just need the Online CD? Thanks guys!
-
people were doing that before the online adapter came out.
But the real online adapter is only like 20-30 bucks isn\'t it? Why would you buy a usb one when you can get the real thing for about the same price.
-
...I\'ve got a USB adapter though. Can someone please tell me how to hook it up this way?? PLEASE! Thanks!
-
Can the online thing work well if you\'re only on 56k?
-
can\'t you just plug it in to the usb port and that\'s it? THat\'s what people were doing before.
-
It prompts you for ISP settings. Don\'t you need the online disk to set that up? Somebody please tell me how to get online this way.
-
I\'m sure someone here has/is connected online with their PS2 by the USB port in the front and can tell me how to do it????? Thanks.
-
People were doing it back before the adapter came out, but the adapters are so cheap I don\'t know if anyone around here is still doing it that way.
-
yea usb networks adapters are only suported in so many games
tell me the game you are trying to use it on and ill let you know what to do
but yea why not get the official one that way you can use Hard drive when it comes out - the adapter comes with the connection for hdd

USB Adapters only work with some Games. Newer ones are only playable with the SONY Adapter, so the USB Adapter has no use here.
To set it up anyway you have to use a Game like Socom or Hardware Online Arena, because they have the network setup function. Just type in your ISP Data and GO, or connect to the PC fia the Windows ICS function... try Google ;)

It\'s just that I already have the USB adapter, that\'s all. I\'m trying to get online with SOCOM. Can someone please give me the instructions on how to do it? Thanks.

hi, about the online adapter, as long as you have an internet provider you can play online with a friend?
How do you find the hosting game ?
there\'s no subscription fee?

Getting online with a game is usually only a manual away if you can\'t figure it out. SOCOM has an extensive section in the manual dedicated to connecting to SOCOM Online, check it out.

I haven\'t gotten the PS adapter still! But the USB adapter is not being recognized by SOCOM when I try to set it up. It\'s telling me there is no adapter connected?? What\'s up with that???
