PFD in Alaska are coming out. This year its only like 1,100 bucks. But thats okay.
I am thinking about getting a new PC, but im probably not sure. Just a price check.
Its gonna be mostly for gaming (Counter-Strike is my weapon of choice)
Can someone give me a good place to buy PC. BTW: I know very little about PCs. Just oogles of basics.
-
....
go to a discount department store and buy a basic PC. do you have any idea how old CounterStrike is? 500 years old!
....
Seriously though, if you don\'t wanna get burned with a poorly configured, underpowered system, then go buy direct from alienware. I obviously don\'t live where you live, so I can\'t recommend any places in your vecinity. So that\'s really the best I can do... Unless you wanna copy down a list of parts, get them all yourself and put it all together.
...
AND STOP PLAYING COUNTERSTRIKE. IF YOU WANNA KEEP PLAYING IT THEN YOU DONT NEED AN EXPENSIVE SYSTEM BECAUSE CS IS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Only buy Alienware if you feel you have too much money.
-
He wants to buy a new system for CounterStrike, of course he\'s got too much money!
-
There will no doubt be a CS version 2.0 or something shortly after Half-Life 2 comes out [whenever it stops leaking all over itself like a drunkard at 2AM]. He should build a PC based on that fact.
Oh and if you build a PC for CS 1.6, you should stop because that game is old. There\'s lots of other PC games out there that are just as fun if not moreso. Seriously. Live in the now.

^
Thats what Im saying. I enjoy CS.
If I had the money, and computer I might play something a bit more advanced- But I dont.
Here is what Im asking; ONLINE WEBSITES YOU CAN TRUST, AND RELY ON TO BUY COMPUTERS.
Thats all Im asking.

Custom is the only way to go.
-
So buy something cheap- with out an intergraded video card. And buy a nice video card?
-
Actually I\'d say integrated video is exactly what you need. Just tell the guy to get you a reliable and cheap nForce or nForce2 mobbo with intigrated video (integrated sound is standard). I assume you know the basics about RAM and Diskspace, so pick whatever size you think is appropriate for you. Just make sure your RAM is at least 256MB.
-
256? more like 1 gig if you want a gaming PC. RAM helps a lot.
-
did you even listen to what \'tater wanted?
-
oh shit- your calling me tater?
i thought it was someone else. lol
-
PTATO CAKE DAMNIT!!!!!!!!
-
For Christ\'s sake, don\'t listen to Awy. He must have been smoking some illegal substances lately.
Get a REAL STAND-ALONE graphics card. Get 512 mb RAM.
But sorry, I don\'t know any websites. I always custom build.

If you\'re in America, custom building a machine with various websites is easy as pie. http://www.newegg.com -- best website for all things PC related.
