FALLS 2000 FEET - AND LIVES!
Skydiver Dave Clements plummeted from 2,000ft after his parachute malfunctioned - and came to a halt with his bottom sticking through the roof of a hanger. His reserve chute took most of the impact and he was left wedged with his backside in the corrugated iron sheeting.
Mr Clements, who is 5ft 6in and weighs 15st, broke three ribs in the fall. He said: "I lay there stuck in the roof, 25ft up, convinced I was dead. I thought I was in some kind of other universe until I heard a bloke below shout, \'What the...\' Then he yelled, \'Don\'t move or you\'ll come through\'."
Mr Clements had broken his left arm after baling out of a Dakota DC3 and smashing into the tail fin. He was unable to open his main parachute then fell towards Coventry airport at 120mph.
The mechanic, 45, of Dunkeswell, Devon, said: "My left arm was just being blown about by the wind and that\'s the one I use to open the chute. I was dropping like a sycamore seed. I was going down head first, spinning out of control and completely disorientated. I thought, \'this is it, this is the end\'."
He was just a few hundred feet from certain death when he made one last grasp at the chute with his left hand. The chute partly opened and shot between Dave\'s legs, turning him over. But it was enough to slow him to around 60mph and saved his life.
Fire crews spent 90 minutes easing Mr Clements off the roof and on to a hydraulic lifting platform.
If that was me, my pants would have brown poop smearing through it.

His reserve shoot saved his ass, literally!:D

During WWII a tail gunner in a Lancaster, Sgt N Alkemade (sp) was blown out of the back window during a fire. He fell 18,000ft into some woodland over Germany. They were going to shoot him for spying rather than lock him up as a POW because he was in such good shape!
In the mid eighties (I think) a Russian Air Stewardess was sucked out of the plane she was in and fell 35,000ft into the side of a snow covered mountain, she broke lots but survived.
The human body is amazing when you\'d least expect it.

i remember reading about a guy way back who\'s parachute didnt open
he bouced twice and lived
-
Beh ! I\'d rather die than live a really disabled life :crap:
-
how scary must it be to literally see the ground closing in on you so fast!....
-
Wholy crap. That is insane. I couldnt imagine myself in that situation and living. Of course i would want to live but just the luck that you must have to survive something like that is incredible
-
wow, that is amazing, he i one lucky bastard,
-
Funny how someone can brake a bone from falling maybe 5 feet or just falling, and some people fall thousands of feet and survive while only breaking 3 ribs.
-
Amazing
-
I agree with kopking..
"he i one lucky bastard,"
-
 @ SER
I\'ve heard of some ****ed up ones where people don\'t survive and their shoulders go through their hips

Come on people, this is just too good to not put in a signature.
Oh, and who in the hell says, "I was dropping like a sycamore seed."

^ Well, in defense of Kopking, only one letter is missing. It\'s not that hard to figure out. :)

Plus his ever popular over use of the comma and lack of punctuation.
