I hope more record labels start to do this.

If I posted this, it would be locked and deleted. :p

Radiohead has the same views. Lead singer said that the talking-suits are the ones to blames for the lack of CD sales coz there\'s nothing new that people like....everything is by MTV\'s descretion as to what\'s hot and what\'s not.

Yes, I imagine most bands have those views (Except those greedy bastards Metallica)

Most losses are probley on "Popular" music from bands that have 2 big albumns then get shunned by the major record labels, they lose most there money because they pump out "Image of the week" bands that can\'t create a long term fanbase, and they appeal to a mostly teenage, non-working audience....

Just my thoughts :P

Word. I hear a song. I want the CD. Can\'t afford the CD. Download the CD. Sorry, if the RIAA wanted me to buy the CD they should give me a job or something.

Single dumbest logic in recent time.
Go. Get a Job. It sucks, yes, but quit whining how you can\'t afford things.

Im not complaining about the price, im just saying, Major labels make most of there money on Crap-bands that apply to young teens who often DONT have jobs.

I buy many CD\'s but, I do not have enough money to buy every CD I want, so I do enjoy the ability of being able to download a few songs from that CD, and buy it a few weeks later.

I\'m tired of this download arguement.  It\'s illegal, plain and simple.  If the band really wanted you to have their music for free they\'d release it on their site or something.  Do you honestly believe most bands want to give away their music for free?  Sure you can blame it on the record label and how evil they are, but the acts don\'t seem to mind signing their lives to them.  Sure I\'d love to see the prices drop, but until then I\'ll support the bands I like and I\'ll go see them live when they come to town.  Better to spend 20 bucks on a concert than 15 on their CD anyway.

I do support the bands I like, but im not gonna buy a CD if I haven\'t heard a few of the bands songs. I go to many concerts, and I\'ve bought over 25 CD\'s this year, and yes I know that is illegal, but the RIAA onlr represents 5 of the major record labels.

I realize that it\'s Illegal, but I do not think what the RIAA is doing is right.

Edit: Okay, Im not disagreeing with you because I know that the RIAA has every legal right to do what they are doing, and it is on a few levels also morally right from the artists perspectives, but perhaps there are alternatives to this.  And File sharing is not the only problem for the music labels. Perhaps, making something where a certain number of songs are avalible for doanload, but not all of them? just not suining famillies that cant afford it.

I can\'t afford CD\'s right now. I\'m working on a car and need all my money for that. Until then, my modem will be downloading the one song that I want to buy the CD for.

Really though. If you actually think I haven\'t looked for a job then you have no idea what I\'ve been through. My logic is perfectly fine. I have applied everywhere, still no call, what does this mean? I can\'t afford the CD, why? B/c I have no money, So? I can\'t buy a CD without money. And? It\'s not my fault it\'s availabe for free.

Its your fault you dropped out of highschool, married your sister, and cant get a job to afford the CD. ;)

I think that "piracy" isnt that bad. They live in mansions, have 10+expensive cars, are on the news every day of their life, have a huge fan base (I mean kids are breaking the law to listen to their creativity).

Personally, music is going downhill. Remember back in the day; you could buy a CD, and the whole thing was memorable. Now its one hit song, and they just play and remix it until its dead. Its all about the $, not about the fans.

Not every band that\'s out there is bad or only produce one good song per CD.  Hell I just got back from The Mars Volta concert.  Their whole entire CD is good.  You just have to look to other places for the good music.  You can\'t trust what the radio shoves your way.

Oh and if you get a chance, check out The Mars Volta.  Very good band.
