I\'m thinking about getting Halo for the PC, and im wondering - how do u play games inh the PC do u get one of those game controllerts for the PC or do u use the keyboard etc??

And does anyone know if you need a subscription to play the PC version of Halo online?
-
According to IGN its easier to play Halo with a keyboard and mouse so the normal mode might feel easier on the PC.They prefered playing it hard mode for that reason

-
Mouse + keyboard is the only way to play FPS games. I\'m shocked you haven\'t tried it that control method before. I started using mouse and keyboard when Quake came out, took some time to get used to but after that you\'ll never want to play with a controller ever again.

Don\'t think there\'s a subscription needed for Halo in MP but you need a really good PC to run it properly.
-
				^^ preach on brotha,
mouse + keyboard is the best config for playing fps\'s.
-
but you need a really good PC to run it properly.
Does that mean a broadband connection or a fast vomputer as in processor speed?
-
Both.  Halo benefits from a fast computer in terms of its videcard, ram, and processor as well as a broadband connection.

-
"benifits" as in will or will not work decently with a 56k connection???
i dont think the comp side should be a prob as i have a 2.4GHz athlon but i dont think my video card is to great its a  "Chaintech GeForce 4 Mx 440 se chipset GPU" Video card, do u think Halo woulld work with it properly?
-
Your computer is fine, but you\'ll have to tone some details down as it is a fairly crappy port, but the 56k connection is the real problem.  The game functions, but its net code is far from optimized.

-
halo PC was a sloppy port, runs like shit on any system

-
Just played this game yesterday....can\'t agreed more...whatta sloppy port. The graphics aren\'t that much better from the XBOX version except for smoother frame rates and higher res.

heck, I think Serious Sam 2nd encounter looks better than this.
-
It sounds stupid i guess but ive never really cared to o much about graphics - like i dont mind if they dont look amazing and if they are at least th same as the XBOX then it should be cool =]
well, off to work experince to learn how to use some more UNIX - stupid command based OS\'s. =]
-
				startx

 :)

				??

ive only played half life on pc, as not a huge pc gamer ( chap is the only other game ive played on pc a lol) at first mouse keybord combo is weird, but you can tell straight away aiming is a lot easier. onceyou get used to it, its very cool, only prob i found is with games where thereare to many moves, and where ive not had enough practice, i dont know the best layouts for the buttons, you shoudnt get this prob with halo though, not many buttons

The game is not satisfying unless you\'re playing legendary.  And Co-op, another feature left out of the pos port.

im amzed how well 56k actually works in multipoplayer, even with the full 16 people playing =]
