Well... even though there are some big advantages to having a large RAID setup, there\'s some disadvantages too.
I recently upgraded my setup, and I have 240 gigs in a RAID setup, (3 80s), and this disk gets a lot of use. Probably 1-2 gigs a day downloaded/deleted/moved. I haven\'t defragged it in about 4 months... and I finally got around to doing it yesterday. It was 99.9% fragmented, with the most fragments in a file being 34000. The largest free space was only 230k, even though I have 24 gigs free.
It\'s been defragging for 30 hours now... it\'s at 22%. lol.

I never defrag.

30% now... another week or so :p
I think I\'ve horribly slowed it down, though by starting to use my computer in the background again for shareaza, newsbin, irc, and surfing.
*EDIT*
Well... I accidentally stopped it at 92%, but whatever. It took a week to do that. I figured out why though. Stupid, stupid me... I forgot to turn something off after my latest re-install. ;)
