I got meself a full time job, working at Tandy (http://www.tandy.com.au/cgi-bin/tandy.storefront)  

Bout time too, had the interview today, got the job today. Quite strange really.  But hey, who doesn\'t love me  (waits for the flames)  ;)

as do I, they\'re part of Woolworth’s, a huge company here in aus. So I can move around from Dicksmith Electronics to Dicksmith powerhouse etc.. The system works pretty fast too, in 3 years i can be a store manager if i have the determination etc. That\'s even if i choose to be etc...  It\'s not pc tech work (I can move into it) but it’s good enough to keep me happy. :)

Congrats man. There is no way I could work there cause I am not really a tech head, but I am sure you\'d do great.

You mean for the young yankies.  We old farts remember when Radio Shack sold all Tandy electronics.

Then they realized just how :ghey: the name was so they shipped everything out...

Congrats. Good to see you\'re contributing taxes.

Speaking of jobs.....the US tech industry is in a job slump. Companies are in need of people.....but can\'t hire due to lack of revenue. Imagine that....we have a demand...but can\'t hire.

What\'s the job force in Australia? Same as the US (not that great) ?



EDIT --- Tandy was the supersuck computer of the 1987-1990. They sold 8086 and 8088 computers back then. Hell....I was one of the first few with a CGA monitor AND.....dun du-duuuunnnn....a 3.5 inch disk drive!!!! WHOOT!

Barring some overlap with Indian Expert Services, I\'d say purdy good. Everyone wants a good consultant/solution designer/skilled coder. Not much demand on network monkies or undergrad pimple heads. Which means I hafta do what Bobo does to get a job. :P But no matter, once I finish my game, I\'m bound to dupe some development house to take me in. :D

Good to hear you found work. Sure there\'s always gonna be a few mornings when you don\'t feel like going to work, but in this day of age I\'m really really happy being webmaster/ designer at http://www.siu.nl :D

LOL. I\'m Dutch, I live in the Netherlands ( yeah, that\'s in Europe .. for the ppl who have no friggin\' clue ) and the site is for Dutch ppl hence it\'s in Dutch language.

I get discounts for all woolworth stores.
Woolworths supermarkets
safeway supermarkets
woolworths plus + Petrol
Big W
Roelf Vos Supermarkets  <-- ???
Dicksmith electronics & Powerhouse etc
Tandy
Woolworth\'s Liquor.

I also get Free stuff from suppliers, i have to reject offers over a certain amount as it may sway my decision on product choice. it\'s all good..  :)
