Fox is hating life. I bet the ratings suck major ass.
ANyway, since you guys pissed and whined in the last thread, here\'s a new one.
-
I\'d rather clip my toe nails in the dark.
-
Bleh,
Everyone knows; Yankees win.
(I hope I eat my words) ;)
-
I only care because I want to see the marlins destroy the yankees in 4.
Even though I was rooting for the cubs, and they lost to the marlins, i will NEVER root for the yankees.
-
If they met at sea wouldn`t the Marlins slaughter the Yankees?
Fish will always have the upper hand in water
-
Yes but The Yankess would whup The Marlins in a Civil War reinactment.

LOL.
I wanted Cubs/Red Sox after the A\'s and the Giants were eliminated, but now that the only four teams worth caring about out of the six have been eliminated, I don\'t care at all. After 162 games of baseball per team though, anyone could get burnt out. It\'s just so boring.
They need to institute a salary cap, cut the number of games down to 90 [so it lasts the duration of the summer months], and make it full contact and penalize players for breaking certain rules for innings or a number of outs based on the severity of the penalty. That\'d make things pretty friggin interesting. Imagine the first basemen being put in the penalty box for the bottom half of the 1st inning. That\'d cuase the whole team to restructure itself to accomodate for the missing player and make them far more defensive. I\'d most DEFINITELY enjoy that.
-
^^
Better wait for Vince Macmahon to start the XLB ;)
-
this series sucks ass, somebody cut the Yankees payroll so we can get some new faces in the WS.
-
Really... when does Joe Millionaire start?
-
Well, the NFL is already pretty extreme as it is so Macmahon didn\'t really do anything to make it all that different. The NFL is perfectly fine as it is and is easily the most exciting US sport to watch [yes, I said US so shut up soccer fans]. Full contact, salary cap, suspenseful. It\'s got a great set of rules -- instant replay challenge is a great one for example, the season isn\'t too long so each game COUNTS for something, and no one player can be held primarily responsible for a TEAM\'S success.
I just can\'t see myself making any improvements on their current system. It\'s great and always exciting. Only in the NFL can an underdog team totaly restructure itself for a big upcoming game and stun the crowd with some massive win. Only in the NFL can a team go to the superbowl and totaly bottom out the next season thanks to the salary cap. Only in the NFL can the last 5 minutes of a game change the course of it so dramatically so a 28-14 lock ends 28-29. I just really admire the way its structured.
Sorry about going off on a tangent there in the wrong thread. ;)

Baseball needs a salary cap.
Think about it, ever since the NFL implemented the salary cap their has been more competition and better quality games. Talent is spread out evenly amongst the teams, and all teams have a franchise player (except the cardinals).
Baseball has an issue. The Yankees have All-Stars from 1-9 as well as on the bench, yet the Devil Rays work completely from their farm system.
If you give each team a set amount of spending money, and a limit on how much you can spend baseball will resurge as America\'s past-time, until then, football will be #1.
If the Yankees had half of the money the have now would they have 26 World Championships, NO. Don\'t you bullshit fans say yes, because money talks. The 97\' Marlins proved it. All you need is money, and a good GM and you have the world Series champions at your disposal.
-
oh man a 19th post, oops make that 20.
Honestly, nobody cares about a marlins-yankees WS. Very quite in chicago.
tied 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth.

It shows you how much power Steinbrenner has.
My wife use to work at Sak\'s 5th Avenue.
George came in every Saturday at 9am to get his hair cut.
In cost cutting measures after 9/11 they decided to start opening at 10am.
George watned them to open the doors especially for him so he could still go. They wouldn\'t...
I mean George is only one of many many millionaires that shop at that store. Apparently he made a big stink about it.
George also controls the FL state fair. One time I was in his office, he walks in and tells his secretary that someone was parked in his parking space. No lie when I left his office there was a tow truck in the parking lot.
Dude definitely has an ego trip.
There were some rumblings though that he was going to get out of baseball after this year. Is that still going on?
-
If I were as rich as that man, hell yeah I would tow that persons car away.

baseball is just a boring sport to watch. I think cheerleaders on the field would help it more than a salary cap. They need some marlin and yankee girls then I will watch.
Most of the it\'s just standing around looking bored waiting for a ball. It is just so boring. I would rather eat dirt.

Please get a video of you eating dirt, it would make my day.

IMO baseball is a dying sport, times have changed and people don\'t want to watch a game so boring. People are much more interested in football(american) and other contact sports.

Although that would make the game a little more interesting it doesnt change the fact that the game boring to watch.

I for one am hoping that Steinbrenner goes on a tirade and fires Torre.
The BoSox could use a manager like that.
-
I wonder if anyone in Miami even realized there was a game last night.
No freaking lie...
Chick on the radio three nights ago... SHe gave a score update in the Marlins Yankees game.. She actually said this, "If the Marlins beat the Yankees, they go to the World Series. Wouldn\'t it be great to see them in the WOrld Series?"
