Title: Comedy is at an all time low
Post by: theomen on October 19, 2003, 05:41:56 PM: Nothing funny is on TV or in the theaters anymore. Most of TV is filled with utter crap in the way of reality TV, and the only shows that try to be funny...aren\'t. The current sitcoms love to point out that white people and black/hispanic/asian people are different...wow, I\'m pretty sure that has been done before. And some of the formerly funny shows such as SNL, and my beloved Simpsons are teh suck now. SNL is just pathetic now, I don\'t even know who 90% of the cast is. About the only funny things on tv are on the Comedy Channel (Daily Show, Tough Crowd, The Chappel show and South Park)

It\'s truely the dark ages of comedy, somebody bring back Family Guy!

Post by: THX on October 19, 2003, 08:06:10 PM: My favorite channel at the moment is Turner Classic Movies. I swithc back and forth between Disc/TLC/History/Animal Planet. Favorite show is Conan O\'Brien. He and Letterman are the funniest things on the tube now imo.

All I watch though is: Discover channels (Monster Garage, Monster house, American Choppers), TLC (Junkyard Mega Wars, occasional shitty movie), SciFi (I hate the shows on it though, Just the movies are good), and History (Anything interesting).

Rya, I like AFV but I can\'t watch it as I get pissed off that the funniest clips are never in the running for the prize at the end. It\'s always a baby doing something repulsive.

They always pick the one with the young child over the pet that clearer should have taken home the money. I mean I know it\'s a family show and all, but seriously! There are videos that are way better than their nominees.

I mostly watch Discovery HD theater, TLC, and HDNet.. But this thread was about Comedies.

RENO 911 was so so, so I stopped recording it.

AFV was funny the first season. There are only so many times I can watch a cat falling off a counter, dude geting hit in his berries, kid doing something stupid, etc...

Recently, I\'ve gotten a kick out of King of Queens, too.

There\'s also Tough Crowd and David Letterman.

Those shows get my pick. If he has a good guest, I\'ll check out Jimmy Kimmel\'s show, too, but Conan clearly owns him.

Oh yeah and Most Extreme Elimination Challenge is a funny show, too.

By the way, I think Christina Applegate is coming back to tv. She\'s on a commercial for a show that I can\'t think of.

But as far as TV shows go, I still like \'everybody loves Raymond\' and I laugh occasionally at 2 and a half men. Although some of it just sucks ass.

Definately. ILC was F*ing great.

I dont really watch tv that much but when i do its the Dave C show, Adult swim sometimes, south park sometimes when my little sister is watching it and M.E.E.C. Reno 911 is funny every blue moon *remembers episode where cops were on rooftop daring a kid to jump building gap for 8 bux:laughing:*

The critic was funny. Back a little while ago i was into Duck Man. I still watch comic view every now and then when nothing else is on.
