Lots of jobs that you don\'t need a degree in, but don\'t expect to make enough to get a decent house and car... Don\'t have any kids either.
-
I find it difficult to study at home also. That\'s why I stay at school and get my work done the same day it\'s assigned...it\'s not a bad habit to get in to.
I also happen to love what I\'m doing though, multi media development. 3ds Max is teh fun!!1 MX Flash and Director are fun to work in but I\'m just not fond of action scripting.
-
Don\'t study at home, that\'s impossible. Go to a library. When I was going to University, I used to study at the library for a local community college, even though I wasn\'t a student there. You know how serious community college students are about studying... the place was empty most of the time. A very good place to study.

I usually study at The Naked Lounge, a local coffee house.
-
I usually study at... oh wait that\'s right, I never study.

School??
I think I can just about remember that far back when I went to school.;)
-
Pfft Im the same way.
Although after failing Math last year; Ive shaped up. All my friends go screwed, I am getting the exact same amount of credits, and have the exact same amount as them; but Im in the easiest class in school, and they are stuck in some hardcore nerd math.
But yeah; I usually go to school just for the interaction with other people, and just offer blowjobs to the teachers who fail me. ;)

cored thanks for the advice, I remembered your post & I forced myself to stay after and finish up some work in the computer labs today. It wasn\'t fun (about 4 hours total) but now I feel big weight lifted off my shoulders. You\'re like the black jesus or something!

Laugh it up. Those nerdy friends now have good high school transcripts showing they actually did some work and now colleges will see you slacked off. And if you don\'t plan on going to college, then disregard this post, and check this site. (http://www.mcdonalds.com/).

All bow down to my current 4.0 GPA in college....then again I\'m taking classes where I usually have a better knowledge of the subject than the professor. So my advice is, major in a subject you already know, people will think you\'re smart even though you may be mildly retarded.
-
doesn\'t work that way. Every major has you take some bs classes you don\'t need. Accounting and Macroeconomics to be a database administrator? *bleh*
I say take a major that is easy and make a helluva lot of contacts in college. It\'s not what you know it\'s who you know. I got in contact with this manager at Burger King.

Very original joke,
You think a college wont accept me because they have a higher math than me? Thats ****ing wrong, just because I am a year behind in math doesnt mean Im retarded. They look not just at one subject, but the student as a whole. And my GPA as of right now is like a 3.

Weightlifting 101?

High school GPA above a 4 point :) , and yes colleges will look at what you take your senior year to determine if they accept you. If you slack your senior year it\'ll bite you in the ass. Plus I need scholarships to pay for my college tuition since I will get no financial help from my parents. Oh well, not like I\'m going to a private school. It\'s University of Cincinnati or Kent for me.

Ah, denial at it\'s finest.

Big time Spudz.. It\'s a lot harder than you think to get in good colleges. They definitely look at the classes you are taking. Especially if you don\'t have in the high 3\'s.. If you are hovering at a 3.0 with crappy classes you won\'t get into a big time college without a real nice SAT score.
My Freshman class at UF averaged 1180 SAT and 3.6 GPA.. That was the average of 8,000 kids.
And that\'s a huge state school. Granted there are other schools like FSU that are pretty easy to get in, but heh.. That\'s FSU.
* Wife beats me in the head with a board

Well for one thing.
I dont expect getting into the most fanciest college ever. Something where I can get a diploma or whatever in what I am interested in.
And another;
I am in all advanced classes, except math; Literature, Woodworking, I have 2 years of french under my belt (taking until they dont offer any more french classes), History, and Science.
I dont have all easy classes. Just math, Im not good with numbers; and I dont expect getting a degree in anything mathematical.
-
ya still gotta take a math curse for your degree, I think the easiest one you can take in Cali Uni\'s is Advanced Algerbra (you might be able to take a computer course in leu of math, I think I read that in my college catalog)
-
Yes, I know you need a math course.
But if your going into something like Journalism, math isnt going to be the most important thing (but it is required most likely)
-
Dude, when you get to college math is gonna raise up and smack you in the face no matter what your majoring in.
-
My sister gave this advice, and she got into SMU with a scholarship:
Take courses that make you look smart. Like Pre-cal, a 3rd or 4th year of foreign language and ALWAYS ALWAYS do well in math.
Sorry spudz, you really ****ed up there in math.
-
Because I got a D in algebra doesnt mean my life is ruined.
Most colleges, and the one I am planning on going to will most likely accept me.
Hell- the college here doesnt even require graduation from highschool.
Of course I could be completely wrong and live in a basement my entire life- but hey, whats to complain about? ;)
