These fires in Southern Cal are amazing. Usually the fires are out in the woods and sure it\'s a lot of acres, but big whoop. THis is different. Damn...

Can you believe Michael Jackson is making a guest apperance at the Radio Music Awards? And they moved Monday Night Football.
Weird week.
Just can\'t get over Michael Jackson making a guest apperance...
On another note: When did these fires start? I just heard about it today (due to Monday Night Football).
-
Was it cause by an arsonist?
-
no. some hunter was lost and he shot a flare. but the brilliant man surrounded by dry brush and sanna anna winds forgot, what goes up must come down, and it started the fire. Started about 6pm saturday night and they didnt show any of the nfl games.

Asia Carrera displaced by Simi Valley fire! You can stay with me, darling, I have DSL! :D
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-102803fire_lat,1,7213448.story?coll=la-news-alert
Asia Carrera, an adult film actress who lives in a Chatsworth townhome, fled with her two cats in her metallic blue Corvette. She packed some clothes and her computer because she also runs an online porn business.
There are at least 9 huge fires active in southern california right now, and that story about the hunter with the flare only accounts for one of them. Arson IS suspected in other fires.
It\'s a very weird situtation here right now. The sky is unusually hazy all the time, cars are covered with a thin layer of ash after being left outside for a few hours, and there\'s a strange smokey smell in the air, even here in downtown LA.
-
friggen weird.. Amazing how a football game gets me to look up details on news sites.
-
Yeah the drummer from Great White lost his house to the fire too, bah he deserved it ;)
-
Hahaha. Serves him right. The whole band should lose their houses to fire.
-
Unbelievable... The sky here [Las Vegas] is brown and the air is foggy with smoke from those fires. Stupid Californians, keep your fire over there.
p.s. If it reaches over here, I\'m going to be pissed.
-
shuddup dude,lol.
anyway, they said alpine has a chance of being totally burned down which is a shame cuz its a historical place and 3 firefighters already died. No clue when theyre gunna contain it. They said something about 10 days but i dont think thats the fire in alpine.

Don\'t worry about it. There\'s nothing to burn between here and there but sand.

They were talking on talk radio about how easily this could be terrorist related.. How in the hell do youstop an arsonist in a forest?
-
How does it advance a terrorist\'s cause to start a forest fire? Most people will think it was an act of nature, or maybe a dimwit flicking a cigarette butt out their car window. The terrorist would have to claim responsibility somehow, and I think most people would figure "yeah right..."
-
Because it would cause economic caos. Even the thought of having an uncontrollable threat would cause problems. Not to mention the billions of dollars in damage.
I\'m not saying these are terrorist related at all, just a thought.

My homepage is CNN.com and frankly this fire is getting old. It\'s kind like finding out another place was bombed in the Middle East. You\'re like OH REALLY WOW then you move on with your daily life
I\'m not saying it isn\'t sad but it\'s the focus of news far too much for someone in Ohio.

Hmm... that is true. Man though the smoke is just all over the city here. It\'s like a thick fog and literally, and not trying to be funny, smells like a hickory barbecue.
-
That blows. I\'ll be there Sunday... What\'s the weather like now in Vegas? Should I where my T-Backs or my long johns?
-
Why do people continue to die by this fire? IT\'S A FIRE, STAY AWAY FROM IT.
-
I\'m sure something reasonable happened, such as waking up in a fire or being surrounded by it.
-
Most of the people that die during these things are elderly. One of the victims died from a heartatack from seeing his house destroyed.
-
Dying from a heartattack is understandable but knowing their is a fire that could overtake your house and continuing to sleep there is mindboggling.
-
These are also californians boz...nuff said.
