It seemed like last year we had a lot more postings in the NFL threads.  Either more people or more action.  I don\'t remember.

Let it be known, that if the Vikings would of kept passing to Moss and doin\' what they done in the first half - they could of won that game. They let it fall apart in the second half.

Don\'t think I\'m discounting the Packers though - because I\'m not. They are a great time and Farve is so obviously the man .

I am not goin\' to jump on the Chief\'s bandwagon (though they are a great team and may go all the way). I will remain loyal to my Niner\'s, even if they aren\'t all that this year...

Here\'s a question: Who else would of liked to seen Chad start and play all year for the Jets? He had a great year last year, and it seemed like the Jet\'s was set to be a great team this year and then he went and got hurt durin\' the pre-season.

I grew up as a Chiefs fan (grew up in Kansas City), so i\'m really excited to see them playing as well as they are so far this season.

As for Pennington, yeah I wish he didn\'t miss so much of this season with that hand injury.  He makes some incredible passes into the tightest of spots.  Vinny had some sorry games earlier this season, but with Chad in there I bet they would have won a few more games.

Funny how he can MAKE a WR into a star....

This is pathetic.  The refs are ruining the game for New England.  They are calling ridiculous penalties when it is obvious DENVER has been going off-sides and holding.  Bullshit refs must have bet on Denver.

I applaud them though, only down by 4 with the refs screwing you over, not bad.

I HATE the Bucs.... but I love this quote from a Panthers player :)

Quote
"I\'ll say it: I can\'t stand them. When they pull on their red and we pull on our blue, it\'s like the Bloods and the Crips. They talk too much, they want to flash \'I\'m a superstar.\' Well, now that talk don\'t mean nothing. We beat them not once, but twice, and I\'m going to celebrate while they go home to watch TV."-- Defensive tackle Kris Jenkins on beating the Buccaneers.

Lots of upsets this weekend, except for the Chiefs / Browns game.  I loved that call in the 4 Qtr, chiefs were up by 14 points and it was 4th down and 3... and Green throws up a 27 yard TD pass.

I love the fact that they went for the kill, KC played to win the game.... the Browns played not to lose.

I used to have some respect for that Browns squad, but they are just no-talent losers now. Holcomb and Couch both blow, William Green is a huge bust this year, and that defense is so bad.

I would have never saw the Eagles coming down to Lambeau, and taking out the Packers...

If he wasnt winning then yea, put in warner..but warner was hurt and they gave bulger the ball and he ran with it and won game after game. how right would it be to take a 6-1 (er whatever he is now) QB and replace him?

Cowboys lose...why am I not surprised? The two times they had the opportunity to prove themselves they get shut-out...must be really wrong.

My story...

Back when I first came to live in the states, I lived here in Dallas. I entered the fourth grade not knowing who the hell the cowboys where. That season the cowboys where going to play the steelers in the superbowl...I was wearing a steeler sweater. But I had no idea you know, I got made fun of so much that day and the following week when the cowboys won. So that how I developed my dislike of the cowboys.

Exactly the reason why I hate baseball.

Sure a team can beat the yankees, but we don\'t expect them to and we don\'t watch because it\'s dull.  Then when someone else wins you say, "Cool, someone beat the Yankees."

We\'re gonna win it (we  = 49\'ers). However, I am tired of Owens being the focus of the team. Even the Monday Night Football opening was focused on Owens. Then, Owens answers the quesiton of where he is from "another planet" and so on...

Tied with the Ravens, I think ? Still, this is a remarkable turn around for the Bengals. When you consider the previous records the past years (a few years goin\' without winning one single game) and now, they have won four out of the five past games. One of which, was an unexpected victory over the top team in the NFL. Something has to be said for the  turn around the Bengals have made.. Provided they keep this up, they\'ll be in the playoffs - and when is the last time you remember even thinking about the Bengals in the playoffs?

All I have to say is....

This is why the Niner\'s are a great team, when they play together. Owens makes a great block. Rattay throws long. Forcing turn overs. It\'s just a shame that earlier in the season the team wasn\'t playing together..

Edit: Score : Niner\'s 30 - Steelers :14

Can\'t believe the Steelers didn\'t opt to do the onside kick. Now, it\'s 3:00 mintues, they need two scores (with both two point conversions) and to stop the Niners from scoring , with only one time out and the two mintue warning.  Niner\'s almost in field goal range - and if they make that, it\'ll pretty much seal this game (more so than it already is).

Niner\'s moving onto 5-5 .

If Ratay doesn\'t start Sunday, Garcia must be giving the coaching staff BJ\'s.  Rattay is a helluva QB, and when he\'s in there the team rallies around the guy and play better as a team.

Im going to have to disagree to an extent, I think that Garcia should be able to play this weekend if he is 100% healthy. Rattay is a good QB, but he doesn\'t have that experience against tough games and situations that undoubtly the Green Bay Packers are going to give. But unless Garcia is not 100% I haven\'t seen any reason why he shouln\'t start.

As a Niner fan , I have to say Garcia needs to sit the next one out. Let Rattay play against the Packers. He is obviously a great QB. There is no reason to believe Garcia can rally up a win against the Packers with his track record against Farve and his crew , not to mention, I don\'t believe he\'ll be playing at "100%" like he says he will.

I still think that if Garcia is healthy, like he said he will, that he should be able to play. He is still one of the best QBs and from what I\'ve seen the team should of had a record of 7-2 if it wasn\'t for that damn kicker. Garcia hasn\'t caught the Warner virus, but I suppose you guys are right, I\'m not saying that he isn\'t as good a quarterback, but Rattay is on the roll so I would let him play versus the Packers.

If the Chiefs went 19-0 there\'s no way I would put them as the top team of all time

Their defense still has questions,  and they don\'t play 60 minutes of football everygame.

I\'ve heard people say they shot themselves in the foot when they lost to the Bengals, I didnt see that.   I just saw the Chiefs get outplayed the entire game.  Just like what happened @Greenbay.  Great teams don\'t get dominated like that.  Especially all time greats.

But I guess every sportswriter has to put the Chiefs as #1 just because they have the best record.  What will they do if the Chiefs lose to a healthy Jake Plummer and to at least another team?  Then they will be jumping on some other bandwagon.

And how about that Kurt Warner.  When Bulger was struggling Martz asked Warner if he wanted to get in the game and Warner replied "Don\'t do it to the kid,  he\'ll pull out of it."

I think Warner doesnt want to play for the Rams anymore.  I think he was sincere in not wanting to replace Bulger,  to hurt his confidence,  but he more then likely thought "why?" He said week 2 or 3 Rams need 1 QB the whole season.  I think he knows a thing or two about QB swaps and how they can hurt your confidence.  Warner has some pride,  and I\'m positive he will be somewhere else next season.

Should be a really interesting game. I don\'t know how it\'s going to play out, but I do know that Ohio State\'s defense is going to keep them in the game, and pretty much immobilize Chris Perry. If Navarre makes enough plays, I think Michigan takes the game...but it\'s all about Krenzel.

Honestly I think Krenzel makes enough plays, Nugent makes some clutch FG\'s, and their defense steps it up, and, sad enough to say...

Ohio State 13, Michigan 10.

Bulger throws 1 TD and 6 ints in his last 2 games but the Rams still win both.  So you guys say keep him in.

Well,  I guess you guys don\'t care that he is trying to give away what should be give me games.

The team plays harder for Bulger,  thats all.  If they played hard for Warner his mistakes would have easily been overcome too.

So when Bulger goes to the playoffs and the Panthers or whatever top defense he plays gives him another QB rating of 10.0 game,  I will just look the other way and watch Kurt play somewhere where he is appreciated.

exactly. Maybe hope that bulger does really bad so warner gets his chance. But until they lose while bulger sucks i dont see it happening and warner does deserve to go to another team, but i dont know where he would go that could use him and actually be a team that could contend. Chargers need a qb.

You really need to stop complaining. Your team wins both games against teams that you prolly should have blown out, but so what? The NFL is all about parody, and these last two games for the Rams are exactly that -- Parody. Lets take a look at some teams that lost to the Cardinals this year: Packers (Favre), Niners (Garcia), and the Bengals (an improved Kitna). Quite frankly, you should feel lucky that you escaped Arizona with the win, since they defend their home turf fairly well.

Warner will not see the turf again this season unless Bulger gets hurt. Bulger has done something Warner hasn\'t done over the past two years -- Win football games. That\'s all that matters, and that\'s what will keep Bulger his starting job.

See Yuz.

Get rid of Collins. I\'m sorry - but he is not mobile, old and clumsy. He lost the game.

They had a chance to score at the end of the first half - if they didn\'t make the pass, they still had enough time for a 3-pt.  What does Collin do? He fumbles the ball AGAIN . He had what? 3 or 4 in the first half? He is not a leader. He is not mobile. Hell, he isnt even a good QB.

Eli Manning. Or take a chance with Ell Roberson in the later rounds. Wouldn\'t hurt to get a friggin\' offensive line, either :)

QB or OL seems like what the Giants need right now, being as Collins is an average at best QB when he has time, and is downright terrible without it in the pocket.

Never hurt to trade up...trade with, oh, the Falcons, give them a CB (Will Peterson and your first rounder, you always got Ralph Brown as your #2 CB), and in return, get their 1st round pick, and maybe a 3rd rounder since Peterson\'s a pretty good player, and use it on Eli Manning, breed him, get a QB specialist and make him familiar with Amani and Ike, and have some good success. Would take some time, though.

Or get an offensive lineman, never hurt anybody.

anyone remember when the Spurs had thei star D Robinson go down with an injury, they had one off year and got the #1 pick in the draft.  Then they won 2 NBA championships.

The Falcons have a very good year, the following year their star Mike Vick goes down and they suck.  They get a high draft pick and....

Seems like this injury might be a little beneficial to them, if they pick up a stud WR, or trade their pick to the Niners for the rights to T.O after the Niners franchise tag him, they could be scary.

That Ravens D really took it to the 9ers... 4 ints.  Chiefs roll again (as expected).... looking to lock up homefield in the coming weeks, with New England only 1 game back.

That goal line stand at the end of the Colts / Pats game was amazing.  Why do do the same run up the middle on 3 straight plays, and try to throw to a Rookie in the corner of the endzone... when he dosen\'t even run the right route.  And who\'s calling for Bulger to be benched now?

He is going to be a great QB and provided he doesn\'t have any more serious injuries, I think he\'ll be one that could lead his team to a superbowl. As long as the Jet\'s work on their defense abit more, hone Chad\'s skills, he\'ll be something to look forward to.

Herman also seems to be enjoying the team. He was mic\'ed up lastnight and he was never losing his cool. Even when Chad threw those two interceptions, he just kept telling Chad it was okay and they\'d get \'em in the second half. Seems like a coach that generally cares about the team and understands mistakes happen - which is no doubt due to the fact that was indeed a player in the NFL at one time.

While we are on the subject of QB\'s... What is the 9\'ers goin to do about Garcia?  After last week, it\'s obviously he isn\'t ready to be back in the game. Let him continue to start or come up with a new plan? And how many more years can Garcia go?

Dude, he\'s 25 or 26 years old. You can\'t deny he\'s made some HUGE strides this year. Give him 2 or 3 more years and he could be one of the best.

Garcia is one of the best QBs out there. But like I said, all quarterbacks need to get back on track after missing as many games as he did. He was rusty. I think they should just play him for the rest of the season so he\'ll get his "thang" back.

SHould I play Michael Vick or Mark Bulger this weekend..

Bulger hasn\'t been posting monster numbers lately.  Very tempting to use Vick even though they are playing Carolina.

Any of his success this season is credited towards his defense not allowing other teams to put points on the board and not forcing the Cowboys to play "catch up" games.

Quincy Carter will never make it big.

i hate to say this but i\'d go with bulger, only because i read that with atlanta only thing they\'re tryin to do is protect vick for the rest of the season which leads me to believe atlanta\'s game plan is run, run, run.

tru dat! i don\'t remember where i read that about them protecting vick,.. either espn or nfl.com. anyway all i see is him either handing it off or quickouts to price. they don\'t want to do anything that\'s going to cause vick to scramble alot..even though vick himself said he feels fine.

They have TJ Duckett and Warrick Dunn who are a nice north-south/east-west combo and the only reason they have no running game is because defenses were stacking the line. They wanted to stuff the run and force Johnson to throw.

With Vick back in they are going to take a man off coverage and/or run support to spy him. So that will open up running/passing lanes.

Bulger has better weapons but the Rams are going against the number 7 defense IN Cleveland.

I really can\'t recommend either one but I hope that info helps YOU choose.

Dunn= out for the season
Duckett = suck

That means more passing.  And Carolina may look like a good defense at first, but think again.  They\'re 21st in pass defense.  Go with Vick.

He\'ll be gone after this year. :)

Dude combined for 300+ all purpose yards. Thats fantasy football gold.

Plus you have to take into account that carolina\'s defense was not respecting TJ Duckett at all. The were hanging back so that they didn\'t open up running lanes for Vick so he had less passing lanes.

Make no mistake about it Vick can light it up over the top.

you know what I just noticed?  The Cheifs haven\'t played any of the other power houses in the AFC, New England, Tennesee, Indianapolis, etc.  Which are all games I\'d like to see, unfortunately we\'ll only get to see one in the post-season.

Of the 16 games they played, only 4 (DEN twice, BAL, MIN) are against playoff teams.  It\'s really hard to judge just how good the Cheifs are.

it\'s true, the Chiefs were blessed with the second easiest schedule in the NFL this year.  I wish they had at least one game against one of the powerhouses... but that will most likely come in the playoffs.  They have a lot of work to get this run defense straightened out, and only 3 games left to do it in.

Hopefully getting Maz back will help with that.  He had a rediculous year last year, and is a badass at stopping the run.

I was thinking that too.  Although I\'m a die hard Pats fan, I always look at the draft with a very neutral perspective.  Eli Manning could grow into what the Giants need badly, a quaterback who not only knows what he\'s doing, but can execute plays under pressure.  Kerry Collins isn\'t terrible, he just can\'t handle pressure. For Manning, a year under Kerry Collins could be just what the doctor ordered in NY.

As for other prospective top 5 drafters... Arizona could use a quaterback, again...  Atlanta needs some offensive weapons, perhaps Larry Fitzgerald, San Diego could go with either Chris Perry or Jason White, whoevers available.  Detriot, oi, maybe another WR, they really don\'t need a RB or a QB...

Jason White\'s gonna be like a 5th rounder man.  Perry prolly won\'t be til at the very least somewhere in the teens I\'d think.  He\'s not the best RB available.  And Fitzgerald is a sophomore, he needs to play another year before coming out of college.

He built that time and got them where they was. Another coach took over on the  top of a team\'s height. Now look at what he has done for the Colt\'s... Dungy is building them up, just like he did the Bucs.

I said it last year and I\'ll say it this year..

(1) Dungy made the Bucs.

(2) Last year\'s Superbowl was a joke. The Raiders and the Bucs? A fluke..Both are shitty ass teams.

i seriously think san diego could be good. All they really need are safteys and a QB. If people like marcelus wiley, zeke moreno, david boston play like they can and the corners get more exerience then theyll do good. And who knows, this couldve just been Brees\' bad year. The offensive line getting hurt doesnt help either.

I\'d love to see Dungy make it.

But let\'s move on....It\'s playoff time and we got a general idea of the possible teams do make it to the Superbowl - who do you think it\'ll be?

I really don\'t see the Chief\'s making it. They\'re defense has fell apart and it\'s not something they can fix within a week.

I hope you didn\'t bet that it would go in overtime though!

:D

I just saw how Mcnabb wants TO in an Eagles uniform - well, you can have him. He is doin\' us no good, see\'ing as he thinks he only needs to practice once a week. He\'s dropped almost every damn thing that came his way.

And don\'t get me started on an eight yard punt....

ARGH!!! This is why the Niner\'s are not winning.

We got Barlow, who can\'t keep hold of a ball..

A kicker who has done nothing for us..

TO who either gets fined, creates team problems or only practices once a week, thus creating no team chemistry.

Not to mention all the defensive pentatlies (spell check!).

Brandon Lloyd is gonna be huge... That grab was almost as good as his diving catch from Rattay a month ago.

I\'ve lost so much love for T.O this year... He just seems to not care anymore... I think guys like Brandon Lloyd and Arnaz Battle will step up big.

Only guy I don\'t want to lose is Julian Peterson... Him and Tony Parrish are the top guys on our squad.

EDIT: Barlow is the man. He is running all over Philly.

Barlow > Entire Eagles Defense.

COME ON NINERS!

I wanted the Niners to win, too...but saying that a kicker who has done nothing is basically saying the same thing twice :-P

And I hope that you\'re not gettin\' all over Billy LaFleur. He Rocks...just had a bad day today :-P

NINARS! WOO!

See Yuz.

namath is not married methinks? anyway hilarious!
that n.o. game was unbelivable! I thought for sure after the
game the kicker would be gone next year, but he has almost
a perfect kicking record. Guess he was  just under a massive amount of pressure. oh yea..how bout dem cowboys?

Not to toot my own horn or anything... but damn, looks like I won both fantasy football leagues.  I have never made the playoffs before playing fantasy in years past.  Great season guys, looking forward to it again next year.

Chiefs get a first round bye.  But i\'m afraid it\'s too late to fix their defensive meltdown.  I\'m still behind them 100% though... you know you\'re a fan when you watch an entire game where your team gets it\'s ass kicked..

:(

damn you cyrus, it\'s all your fault :p

I\'ve noticed though.. that every game the chiefs have lost I have gone to a bar right up the street to watch, every other game i\'ve gone up to the city to watch it and the Chiefs have won all of those games.

I\'m never going to my local sportsbar again.... bad luck....

nice win for the packers. i guess farves dad\'s passing inspired him. he was throwing all over the place. farve can be very dangerous when he\'s focused. and the raiders? i still don\'t understand what happened to them. they went from one extreme to the next.

So what do you guys think of Brett Favres amazing preformance just one day after his father died.  Personally, I believe that Brett Favre has the most heart and determination of any athlete of any sport.  He has inspired me to be the athlete that I am today.  Brett is truly one of the last professional sports athletes that actually plays the sport because he thinks it is fun.  I respect that man pretty much as much as I would respect my own father and mother.
