I want to watch dvds on ps2 , it was  a gift for my son. when he set it up (last year) he entered a password ? of which he has no idea what it was.what do I have to do to watch dvds???? don\'t say buy a dvd player. any help would be appriciated. thanks in advance

check somewhere in the manual I think there is some master code or something.

And I\'m gonna move this to the Main Forum where the ps2 know it alls should be able to help you.

For mine it always resets back to 0000 as the password.

If that doesnt work I dont know.

google it, lots of pages out there that tells you how to reset the password. Last time I checked we weren\'t allowed to post the method because a lot of younger kids visit these boards and it\'s not that great showing them how to disable the parental control :P

Why did you let ur son to do the setup in the first place!!!!

Take it back for exchange and claim it don\'t work!!

my default code is 7444 (it came out of the box requiring it), i\'ve never found out how to disable it so I gotta enter it every time I wanna watch a movie.

Look in the ps2 instruction manual for the code, it is different for each ps2.
