Well? Have you been following the most recent tournement in Pride? Chuck Liddell (representing UFC) got his ass beat by former UFC champ and now Pride fighter Quinton Jackson.

Anyone here know who Wernderlei Silva is? The most vicious fighter in the world, that\'s who. He beat the crap out of Quinton Jackson later that night. It\'s on Pay-Per-View now.

No. It\'s mixed martial arts full contact fighting.

The differences between UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championsips) and Pride is that UFC fights are in an octogon fence ring, Pride has a boxing ring. Pride, you can not use your knees on an opponent while the opponent is down, in Pride, you can. That makes a huge difference in people\'s fighting styles, believe it or not. Pride, the ref will issue a warning card to an opponent who chooses not to be aggressive. So, there isn\'t too many long drawn out ground attrition. They\'ll be placed back on their feet for more action.

REAL deal. Broken cheek bones, broken femur, cracked knuckles...the works. They wear protective fist gloves (no boxing gloves) though.

UFC is nasty stuff.  A lot of potential for permanent damage to the fighters.  In the beginning it was mostly overweight fighters who had no stamina and would eventually wind up on the mat with each other.  But the competition has picked up.  I haven\'t ever seen Pride.

I\'m too cheap to pay for it.  But if it were on regular cable or HBO I\'d watch it for sure.
