Title: I finally got a chance to play Kill.Switch
Post by: EmperorRob on November 12, 2003, 09:29:32 AM
I went through the first level last night.  This game is pretty fun and the controls are a mix between Halo and Syphon Filter.  The cover button works really well.  The only bad thing I can say is that the game is just 1 player.  If I finish it I\'ll post how long it took me.

Well the levels seem fairly short but there\'s not much room for error.  About 3 or 4 direct hits and you\'re dead and that\'s on normal diff.  I like that.

You basically play it like Syphon filter from the 3rd person view but the controls resemble Halo or Timesplitters.

You have a "cover" button which will hug you against an object when you get close to it.  From this position you can "blind fire" w/o looking or kind of poke your head to the side or above whatever you\'re hiding behind and shoot.  Your accuracy is not very good with the blind fire but real useful for grenade throwing.

Most definitely worth a rent.  I got 4 days to beat it so I better get busy.

I finished it tonight.  I think it was somewhere around 15 levels.  Gameplay is great, voice acting is horrible (Adam Baldwin).  If you like shooters you should rent this.  I finished it in about 8 hours.  The AI on the enemies is smart but sometimes predictable.  Then again I was not on the highest difficulty.

I might ask for this for Christmas or wait until it goes on sale.  One of the best games I\'ve ever played, first time through.  I wonder how much I\'ll want to play it though after I\'ve beaten 3 or 4 times.
