Title: NFSU Review
Post by: ##RaCeR## on November 16, 2003, 07:44:24 PM
Sounds kinda dissapointing. No car tuning, no real engine mods, no race replays, no day races, 30fps gameplay.

Should still be fun.

  8.5   Presentation
20 licensed vehicles, tons of professional part vendors, and a story mode just scream with production. But no replays? Ouch!

  8.5   Graphics
We\'re sorely missing 60 frames per second, but this is an absolutely gorgeous racer. Fantastic lighting, detailed car models, and sweet effects. Could have used more variety, however.

  8.5   Sound
Awesome soundtrack with style and variety. Exclusive artists. Accurate sound effects and surround sound.

  9.0   Gameplay
Fantastically executed gameplay; addictive and a style all its own. Customization is the main reason to own it. Only some of the track design limitations and lack of tuning options drag it down.

  9.0   Lasting Appeal
Online and access to PC players. Wow! Otherwise customization will keep you busy for months if not much longer. Huge story mode can take 10+ hours to complete.

 8.9  OVERALL:
(out of 10 / not an average)

I will do for about the first week of GT4 but then it\'ll become the usual, just something in the way of having another race.

Edit : NFS : HP2 didn\'t really have replays so to speak either, you could but all it did was let you watch from whichever view you raced with. NFS2 : Hot Pursuit on the Playstation 1 had great replays.

There is no reason not to own this game.

Need for Speed can go fuck itself.

Absolutely!

Criterion could teach EA a thing or two about racing games which run at 60fps.

BO2 is a god of a game. One of the best arcade racers ever if not the best. I still think id give this game a try eventhough i really dont like 30FPS.

Personally i love replays. Sometimes i wish i had replays in GTA:VC. In TXRZero, GT3, or any racing game i like to have replays. When i pull the craziest runs i expect to be able to see it again and have camera angles make it even more dramatic. Thats always refreshing.

I still watch replays in GT3 on occasion. All the time w/ drifting
