The guy said it is just as good as the other FF\'s, but it gets 8.1

Just as good isn\'t good enough!  I expect improvements with every generation... not just a rehash.

I thought VII, IX, and X were big leaps forward, so hopefully 12 or 13 will be the next leap.

I read elsewhere that in a nutshell that this ff is just a bunch of girly fluff stuff,..which it is but i was hoping they would have made it a little deeper.nothin different here from the last ff.

Funny...it received a 9.5 or there abouts from IGN.  I suggest reading their 6 page review if you really want to to know more about it.

The battle system is supposedly one of the most fun to come along and it has loads of mini-games...not to mention the 5 different endings...the game plus feature...tomorrow is gonna be good:ccol:

I\'ll be sure to post my own impressions of the game.

Anyone else pick theirs up yet?

I\'ve spent around 3 hours with it and I can\'t say I\'m impressed.  It feels like I\'m watching an old episode of Charlie\'s Angels.  I\'ve read the story does get more involved later on so I have high hopes.

The battle system...well, as you probably know it went back to the ATB (Active Time Battle) system.  The other Final Fantasy games were like this so I figured I wouldn\'t mind adjusting, it\'s taking me longer than I thought to get used to it though.  It\'s almost as if the battle is moving too fast to enjoy it and I\'m better off just making quick random decisions rather than strategize...but I\'m guessing that\'s because I haven\'t had enough time to memorize all the moves list for each job.

Changing jobs in the middle of battle is annoying, it was pretty the first time but I even said to myself and my friend who happened to be over, "I hope it doesn\'t do this crap every time."  It does, maybe I\'m just not pressing the right button to skip it though:(

The graphics are more or less the same, the only noticeable difference is the facial expressions.

The music, can\'t say I care for most of it.

I think I\'m still in a time of adjustment but I can say the game is different than FF X...hopefully I\'ll end up liking this one.

Well at least the ATB\'s are back. I cant say im all over the turn based system. I liked the fact that you had to be more crucial and a bit faster in your battle tactics. Meh. Either way, im not so sure about this one. Ill wait for further reviews.

DUH!!  I just found out you can slow down the ATB time, this will help until I get the hold of where everything is.

Nobody else has this game or any interest in it?:(

I have to say that the first chapter is a bit different but by mid chapter 2 you realize this story has something goin\' on and before you know it you\'re back in some sorta Final Fantasy drama!

The game still manages to keep an upbeat tone to it...better than watching Tidus cry every other cutscene:)

Oh, and the battle system is very addictive.  Curse the job system and all it\'s goodness...curse it I say!

I\'ll rent it after I finish this week\'s schoolwork.

SPECIAL DRESS SPHERES ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
soooooo much power...drool

My favorite regular jobs have to be Beserker and Dark Knight...lots of power.  Equip them on the Tetra Master garment grid and you\'ll do some serious damage as a party.  I have the lure bracer on (more random encounters) and the Tetra Master grid on every one...I\'m at level 45 slaughtering everything in my way.  This way I can enjoy the story rather than worry if I\'ll be able to make it..

The story just keeps getting better, much more exciting than the original game, BTW.

Also, this is not like any other FF game so I\'m not sure what the reviewer was talking about.  It does have a linear story BUT you have so many side quests while in the chapters you can spend hours earning garment grids, dress spheres, gil, credits, and accessories.

Search everywhere and talk to everyone in each chapter...there\'s some really good stuff laying around.  Nothing has been too hard to earn yet.

So, I\'ve gone from not impressed to fully loving this game.:D

Wow, I picked this game up last week and I had no clue what I was in for.  First of all I was confused as hell by the new battle system, but soon enough I got used to it.  FFX-2 picks up right where the first left you, and the storyline correllates very well with the first.

The graphics are the best I\'ve seen on ANY console.  So far I\'m enjoying it, and I really like the return to the Job System.  I tip my hat to Square on  this one.

I enjoyed IX. Probably the most out of all the PSX FF titles. But how was it a step foward?

Question: Do you also play dress up, like the Barbie games?

(*Finds it extremely odd that a bunch of guy\'s are flocking to a play title like this, other than the Final Fantasy title* )

I\'m just teasin\' ya Ginky. I am just really surprised that this is going over so well. When the game was announced everyone threw a fit and the gameplay seems to be more targeted towards the female audience.

Yes, I threw a fit over the all female cast AND the ATB system.  Come to find out it was a waste of perfectly good whining...the cast is so much more fun this time around, the voice acting is the best I\'ve heard for a videogame to date and the three of them just get along so well...it\'s fun to watch them.

The garment grid is kinda like the sphere grid, better though.

The story is not all pillow fights and dress up...the first chapter is a bit awkward but chapter 2 and on the game is very reminiscent of past Final Fantasy stories.

If you enjoyed FFX, you\'ll love the sequel...once you get past chapter one:)

NO! Get FFX Quddus, I\'m telling you.

Yea, dont play X-2 if you haven\'t played X.  Personally, that was a great game IMO.  But I also loved FF8 which many people didn\'t like to much.  FF7 > FF8 > FF10 > FF9       But by no means do I think FF9 is bad, it is still one of my most favorite games.

I\'ve continually lost interest in Final Fantasy after each game.  Is this one going to change my mind or should I just stay away?

Well, you should have enjoyed FFX...if so then you will like X-2, no doubt.

The gameplay approach is a bit different but makes for a refreshing experience in a FF title.  There are 5 chapters in the game, the game is broken up like this so it is up to YOU how much you get out of the story.  You can either participate in the given objectives only, or dig in some more and get some side scoop you\'d miss otherwise.

This is my favorite FF game yet, you should at least rent it.

See that\'s the thing, I did enjoy FFX, but I look back at it and I don\'t think I could take the tedium again (same with every other FF game with the exception of FFT).  I guess what I\'m asking is that does this game progress fairly quickly or am I going on hour long leveling sprees?

I had this game in my hand yesterday and I almost got it. I was seconds away but I put it back and grabbed MOH: Rising Sun.(stupid me)

I was surprised that it was out and I didn\'t hear about it. I really like FFX so I might have to go back and grab this.

BTW, Blockbuster\'s Game Freedom pass is seriously the best thing Blockbuster Video has ever invented. Seriously.

The story progresses extremely quickly if you just hit the hotspots in each chapter.  They are marked and once you finish the objectives you progress to the next chapter.

If you choose to venture in to the game\'s many different side quests you will spend hours completing the optional tasks...as a reward you will get some cool accessories, garment grids, or just interesting side developments in the story.

I\'ve taken part in most of the side quests and I\'m right at the end with 45 hours.  I\'m just guessing without the side quests I could have finished it in around 20 hours.

I\'m pissed off right now because I really wanted to complete this one side quest but I can\'t since I missed a part of it in chapter one.

EDIT:  Just beat it, very nice:)

[sp]There are two points in the game where you can alter a scene with the press of the button X.  One is when Yuna falls in to the farplane.  When she is wandering around press the button X and you will hear whistling, keep pressing it and you will trigger an event.

The other point is at the end of the game.  When you see Yuna walking through the field of flowers in the farplane, press X and you will hear the whistle again and this will trigger the "good ending".

Eh so I compromised and went out and bought FF: anthology.  Not a bad bang for your buck.  20 dollars for FF V and VI

It\'s not the best FF game, but I\'m enjoying it. The battle system isn\'t hard at all, I don\'t know what the fuss is about. And like what was said before, you can slow down the ATB system until you learn everything. I have been playing the game for 20 hours and I still have no idea what the hell happened to Tidus, and I haven\'t come across as many CG cut-scenes as there were in FFX, which is pissing me off, but maybe they\'re saving them for a later time.

The game is reminds me of Charlie\'s Angels/Tomb Raider, and the game gets so incredibly cheesy at times that you only feel safe playing it if you\'re the only one in the room. The facial expressions a bit more detailed, especially with Rikku (who is more annoyingin this one).

And I agree with Ginko, Chapter 1 is almost unbearable. It gets better as you go through it. Overall, I\'m pretty damn excited to play this because I just wanna know what happened to Tidus, since the whole game is based around a sphere that Yuna found with someone that looks a hell of a lot like Tidus, and finding out if he is still alive or whatever, I get more confused as I play (I spoiled the first 2 seconds of the game for you...sorry).

^You will learn most of it by chapter 3.

If you really want to know what happened with Tidus you have to...[sp]
Get 100% perfect ending.  Or just go to Gamefaqs.com and read the transcript there.

If you just achieve the regular ending you will not see Tidus.  If you get the good ending you will be extremely satisfied.  It\'s actually as easy as pressing a button during the regular ending...then answering a question.[/sp]

The story is less about Tidus, or Yuna for that matter.  It\'s based on the theme of love.  It\'s a great story:)

Just to clarify...there are three endings.

Regular
Good
Perfect

You can get the regular and good endings without having to collect 100%.
