Who else caved in and picked up \'Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Extended Edition\' lastnight? I went around 1:00 am and got my copy of it.
I must say, the new scenes are welcomed and really flesh out the story, a lot more so than the ones added in \'Fellowship of the Ring\'. The extra\'s are great, including the easter egg of Gollum at the MTV Awards.
(*also picked up \'The Honeymooners: The Classic 39\'*)

Nerd Edition
;)
-
I\'m getting it, but I won\'t have a chance to get it until the weekend.
-
I\'m thinkin\' tommorw will be dediated to a \'FellowShip of the Ring: EE\' and \'The Two Towers:EE\' back to back marathon.
By the way - for those who buy it..
On Disc 1 - Go to Scene Selection.
Right Hand Corner - chapters 29-30.
Click enter.
Then highlight channel 30.
Press down on your remote.
If you do it correctly, you\'ll see a ring next to "new scene" at the bottom of the screen. If so - hit enter and enjoy the easter egg.
-
I just finished watching it. You might wanna put spoiler on the subject heading for the less careless. ;)

Faromir\'s story is extended. Eomir is in it. :D Merry and Pippin drink the Ent water and grow a little. Legolas and Gimli tally up their kills.....and is absolutely HILARIOUS! BWAHAHAHA! The Urukhais are shown getting finished off by a strange appearance of a forest that was no there before. Hmmmmm.... ;)[/sp]

Not a fan of the LOTR, but I got LOTR: FOTR and TTT original version. No extended. I found the first one quite enjoybable, the TTT got me fall asleep.

How does that happen? I would think it would be the other way around, due to the fact that FOTR is a lot slower than TTT.
-
FOTR was more methodical and much slower than TTT. *scratches head* FOTR did the introduction, the plot setting, set off the adventure....to an abrubt ending. Yet was quite enjoyable. TTT was like the faster runner in a relay race. Maybe the Ents put you to sleep.

All I can say is bring on Return of the King! Then bring on Return of the King: Extended Edition!
...Though, I am slightly dissapointed that Christopher Lee has been cut out of the regular edition of Return of the King...:(

What I found interestinf on FOTR is the action seems better. I was surprised at the ending. I was like, seem like a cool adventure. I wonder what awaits ahead. So, when TTT came out on DVD on August, I bought it and watch what next on their adventure. Couldn\'t help but fall asleep and bored. I try to watch but the movie is making me sleepy. I thought to myself, oh no, not good, it talks about a King and stuff. Remind me too much of Excalibur I watched in school and Excalibur isn\'t really my favorite. Too long. They should shorten it to make it more interesting. it also reminded me of Braveheart I watch in school too, which both movies seem like a lecture to me. Now, I can\'t wait to pick up X-Men 2 (I seen it in theater and i love it.)
Maybe I am not a huge fan of movies with King and castle. I think I been spoiled by special effects like X-Men 2.

I got it with mail yesterday. Didn\'t have time to watch it though because I was
a) Watching Godfather Part I again
b) Going to the cinema to watch Goodbye Lenin
Today I\'ll watch Godfather Part II and then LOTR: TTT. :)
-
Ok where can you get a DVD at 1:00 AM ??? Just curious.
-
Wal-Mart.
Sam Goody\'s on Tuesdays open from Midnight - 1:00 am.
-
ANd why do you need to buy the DVD at 1am?
-
Why not?
I work night shift off and on - when I work night shift, I stay up all night on my days / nights off.
-
Ah, alrighty. I may try and get it tomorrow. I\'ve been so damn busy this week.
-
It\'s worth it. I done my FOTR / TTT EE marathon today. Just dread goin\' back to work tommorw night. :(
Oh well, only five more work days until vacation!
-

Hey maybe you should stick with cartoons or something. Yeah, Tom & Jerry... that\'s sounds ideal for you. Plenty of action, nice effects, no lectures, and only 5 minutes long. Do you think you can stay awake for that? :p
I can almost understand your saying The Two Towers put you to sleep, because it is FAWKING long; especially the extended edition. However... Excalibur???? Damn man that is just wrong for you to say a thing like that. Excalibur is just about perfect. In some ways it\'s better than LOTR. It\'s more economical, better paced, more stylish. OK, it\'s not better, just different. I love that movie. :D

I watched a little bit of disc 3 yesterday. THey really go high end with the extras. Looks fantastic...
43 extra minutes.. Oye, that\'s a long disc.. I mean discs....
-
I would have note minded another hour or so to the EE\'s.
-
I spent the other day watching all the documentaries on disc 3 & 4... that was some 6-7 hours TV watching. My eyes were literally hurting afterwards, but it was worth it. :D
-
What wonderful extras. I love this series because the extras are extremely well produced. Not just some crap thrown together.
-
Agreed. I had no idea that Treebeard was a 14-foot tall animatronic puppet.
