Title: what kind of whips you drivin?
Post by: clips on November 19, 2003, 04:12:38 AM: I was just wondering what kinds of rides everybody has or had in here. I would also like to know what was your fastest speed in that vehicle..i\'ll start it off... 1st vehicle 1989 nissan 240sx- heh this was my first car. I had the full body karminari kit on this whip.couldn\'t tell me jack at the time! I remember toppin the car out at 115 mph. I was on the nj turnpike racin a mustang, which whooped my ass..heh,nice car but only 140 horses. 2nd vehichle 1992 nissan maxima- got this after i totaled the 240.anywayz fastest in this one was 117 mph on rte 78,racin a beemer.might\'ve been a 5 series. got alot of miles outa that vehichle ..check it..360,234 miles! been to the moon & back! 3rd vehicle (current)-95 lex sc400 just purchased back in may..haven\'t really opened it up yet,but i\'ll be goin down south for thanksgiving so maybe i\'ll have a chance to rip it on 95.

Fastest...130 mph Why? I don\'t know why....but I ain\'t doin\' that again. The car was very stable but my skill level at that speed was left at 80mph.

Speed: 125mph (governor is set) - was super smooth and quiet for a 12 year old car at the time.

2nd car - 1996 Nissan Maxima SE 5-speed
Speed: Haven\'t really gone faster than 100 mph. So far raced a new A4 and an older Civic, won each time.

Two Tone brown and topped out at about 85

My current baby:

1996 GMC Jimmy 4-door 4X4
I have no idea what the top speed is.

Post by: Green Meanie on November 19, 2003, 07:51:30 AM: 1) 1984 Yamaha RD125LC - De-restricted to 36hp, top speed 105mph (I\'d have got 115 if 6th gear worked).

2)1997 Kawasaki GPZ500s - I managed to get 130mph showing on the clock, wringing all 80 odd horsepower from it.

3)2000 Kawasaki GPZ500s - A newer one after a coach knocked me off my old one and ran over my legs. This one did 135mph and had a skinnier rear tyre, it steered so much faster.

4)1990 VW Polo - This one\'s embarassing, I won\'t even bother! The only saving grace is that it was a present.

5)1998 Fiat Punto Sporting - 86hp and 115mph. It just won\'t go any faster no matter what I try, even downhill sections don\'t help.

I have my eye on a couple of toys for the future.

I went out in the lairy coloured one and it\'s the quickest thing I\'ve ever been on/in, 770bhp per tonne for £18,000!!!

Previous vehicles aren\'t worth mentioning. Current ride is a 2003 Honda S2000. I\'ve been to 135 mph with this car on an empty stretch of I-10, but the top speed is said to be around 156-160. I\'m actually staying home from work today to have an alignment done. :)

It\'s a Citroen Saxo VTR. Although this isn\'t mine in the pic mine is similar. I bought it brand new four and a half years ago and it has just under 28,000 miles on the clock. It has a top speed of 120mph which I reach quite frequently.

2) 1986 Mustang SVO - 130-140 The speedometer in that car stopped numbering after about 85mph but the ticks were there just without numbers - wierd, but I really miss that car.

3) 1984 BMW 318i - 110 mph

4) 1990 VW Jetta GLI - 115mph

5) 1989 Saab 900 Turbo - 120mph

6) 1995 Toyota 4 Runner

7) 2000 Chevy Blazer - 2 DR 4WD

8) my current car 2001 VW Jetta GLX

will be trading this car in soon and am looking at an Audi A4 or a Passat... the only reason I would take the Passat over the Audi is that the closest Audi dealership is in Montgomery (about 1 hour away).

I am quite sure, the problem is that we have speed cameras popping up everywhere now. The only time I get up to those speeds is usually on my way home from work, on the motorway under cover of darkness.:D

And then occasionly I drive my parents car 2000 Pontiac GT and I took it to 135mph b4 I saw the cops, (they never saw me) whew. And then I have a 85 F-150 351w 4 speed that will go about 95. Tis a beast.

1972 SAAB: Bought it at a junk yard and fixed it up. Damn thing rocked. It had no headliner so I had a Spudz Mackenzie poster taped to the ceiling. I also had tons of pics on the ceiling of buds.

Mixed in there are a bunch of company vehilces. Most were ford explorers and Astro minivans...

Oh yeah, top speed. 118 on the highway, 128 on the dyno.. Damn speed limiter...

Yeah those cars were great for egging stuff... the only drawback was the acceleration - if someone could run fast they could catch you before you got going fast enough to get away.

Another plus was they looked like every other GM car so someone couldn\'t be certain what kind of car you were driving at night.

There were a group of thugs roaming my neighborhood not too long ago ago, they were throwing rocks at cars. They got a couple of cars at my house, right through the windows, glass everywhere. The bastards hacked up my drivers side door on my other car.

You have to be a real lowlife to go around smashing up defenseless cars. By the way, the cops caught the little pieces of human waste after a neighbor heard some noise late one night and chased them in his car and got the plate number. These little morons lived in the neighborhood where they were doing their nighttime deeds.

In the US can you shoot someone if they\'re doing your car over or is it only if they\'ve broken into your house?

well its got some design features of the 2004 malibu in the US but its still not the same thing,and as far as i know this car has only been made for the middleeast and asia.

It must be a middle eastern thing... I rarely see American cars here in Europe. Well, there are importers, but mostly for the big trucks and stuff (I don\'t know who can afford to pay for the gas though :p).

Actually you\'re not even allowed to shoot someone for just breaking into your house. They must pose some sort of a threat with a weapon. I\'ve read cases where a guy that broke into someones house sued them for shooting him and won.

And to add to the thread I drive a 97 Chevy Lumina.

yup, but like sammy said its a mideast thing. and beleive it or not the maintanence and service costs are cheaper for american cars than it is for euros and japs, heck at 50000km the servicing for my dads \'02 lumina would only cost as much as 300USD whilst my friend had to pay 500USD to service his \'00 Accord. for the same distance driven.
