Title: Help on getting rid of the cold.
Post by: Paul2 on December 01, 2003, 01:40:06 AM
when my brother took me to my sister\'s house.  My nephew who is nearly 5 yrs old was sick and coughing.  I am not sure if it was the cup i drink or the coughing from the boy, i got infected with the germs and i can\'t stop coughing.  the coughing get so bad that even today, i am still coughing.  it been 9 days.  Took some medication but didn\'t seem to help much.  I told my cousin about that i got the cough from my nephew, she said, I don\'t think you get it from the boy.  You can\'t get sick from a kid\'s germ.
I disagree with her and i try to explain to her but she didn\'t seem to listen so i didn\'t say much.  She probably said that so I would hold a grudge on my nephew.  Admitting, i kinda do, and the cough is getting pretty bad.

Anybody here have any suggestion on getting rid of the cough?  I am planning on seeing my doctor tomorrow morning.

Where did she come up with the "you can\'t get sick from a kid\'s germs"? That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.

Drink some honey & ginger mix. I\'ve heard that helps. If not - call in sick and drink a lot of nyquil and sleep it off. I know that works, as I do it often.

If you wanna clean the system out, and I mean really clean you out, get a juicer and mix ginger, carrot, beetroot and lotsa lemon and apples and some wheatgrass and drink it down. It\'ll flush your system of all yer bugs and will generally make you feel better.

Get those Zinc losenges. Zinc seems to prevent the virus from multiplying. Get it now before you get the cold.

Yeah, after I went extreme sledding- I came back with a cold.

:(

Echenicia (sp?) tea works the best. Trust me, everyone will say something different. But it does. It really will work if you have it 4 times a day.

Also chicken soup helps. :D

I had a cold about a week ago. It was gone in a couple days. I took vitamin C and centrum pills everyday. I then took Echinasea (sp) and that boosted the hell out of my immune system. Its gone now and I\'m happy :)

I\'m positive I caught something over the weekend. Standing outside in the cold for two hours or so at the APC concert, then hanging out at the Dropzone Sunday, once again in the cold - since then I\'ve felt like shit. Constantly tired, coughing and sneezing and let\'s not forget being light-headed. I just hope I\'m better by weekend , I\'d like to get another jump in before I go back to work, provided the weather premits , as it\'s suppose to be deeadful this weekend (snow one day / sunny but cold the next).

I fell asleep one night in my boxers. It got kind of cold in my room and I didn\'t know it (since I was asleep in nothing but boxers). Next morning, sneezing running nose, the works. That lasted for over 2 months. Worst cold ever, all because I slept in the cold in boxers.

What\'s odd about mine is the fact I don\'t typically mind cold weather. I hate it while I\'m awake, but if I am goin\' to bed I have to keep it cold. I keep my A/C on 60 degree\'s year around in my bedroom. Sleep with one blanket. If I am even slightly warm, I cannot fall asleep.

Same here. I love sleeping in the cold, as long as I\'m wearing long pants. In the summer, I\'m more restless because its hotter and stuff. Its just if its cold the whole night and I have nothing but a sheet on, I\'ll catch a cold.
