Post by: Samwise on December 08, 2003, 04:37:15 AM
Heh, I was playing a roulette game online... you start with 5,000 virtual dollars. I ended up at $15,000. :D
EDIT: Actually I got a fair bit more... check the below posts.

Any other supergamblers around here? :p

Oh yeah, the URL is http://www.freeroulette.com/Roulette.html.

Betting free online is not gambling.

You are making bets you would never do with real money.

But I\'ll take that challenge.

How long did it take you?

It\'s still gambling. But of course I\'m not claiming I\'d do anything like this in real life. :)

BTW, I\'m at $18,495 right now. Took me about an hour and a half.

Is this the sort of online gambling where it costs $250.000-virtual to buy a coffee mug?

Bullshit Cyrus the Virus. First of all - the numbers go from 0-36. And maximum bet is $1000.

A screenshot to back up your claims wouldn\'t hurt either. I\'ve screenshots of all the numbers I threw around in the above posts.

Actully, it\'s pretty easy to get your money up, just put 1 100 chip on red, one on black, one on odds, one on evens, then put the rest on random numbers.

It goes up pretty quick.

When I try to play I get a big black square in the middle of the gamescreen that blocks all the numbers. It says something about licensing the applet or something. :(

Well you are correct because I said 39 chances you only have 4 tries before you break even again but if you place 10 - 100 dollar betts randomly if you get lucky like I did and hit 6 of 10 your cash goes up quickly. the odds of a single are 39-1 so I spend 1000 dollars and if lucky win 3,900 dollars at 39 to 1. I dont have to prove myself I could photochop anything and make it "look" real.

If you put $100 on red, black, odd and even, they\'re bound to cancel eachother out. Sure you\'ll get 2 out of 2 each time, but in order to win $400, you shell out $400. No gain there.

Yeah there is, it goes up a lot more than it goes down, doing that, I had nearly $12000 in the space of about 10 minutes.

Cerberus, it just doesn\'t work that way. Try playing again - this time with $100 only on red, black, odd and even. Trust me, you\'ll gain zero, zip, nada - nothing.

In fact you\'ll only lose money in the long run - namely when 0 or 00 is picked.

You didn\'t read what I originally posted did you?

I said put 100 on red black odd & even, THEN put the rest on random numbers.

If you put them on random numbers, you do get money back quicker than you lose it, if you put the lot on random numbers, you would probably get more back, but would increase any losses you would incur. Putting one one each of the 4, it cuts your potential maximum loss.

I did read what you wrote. But I\'m just telling you how putting money on those four \'slots\' have nothing to say in your earning. I know all your winnings came from the random numbers - and the winnings would not be any different had you chosen not to put money on red, black, odd and even.

You win $400 that way. But you also lose $400. Every single time. That\'s why it doesn\'t matter if you do that (in fact it just means more work for you).

It\'s simple math really.
