Title: Bright areas "smear" into dark

My first post here, so be nice if I missed the answer to this one. I searched on "streak" and "smear" and didn\'t fond anything.

Here\'s my problem: The bright areas both on games and DVD\'s "smear" into the darker areas next to them. The smear goes from left to right. I don\'t remember seeing thsi before yesterday.

I have s-vidoe output to my HT receiver and then s-video to my TV.

Any help appreciated.

try decreasing your tv\'s brigthness settings (by reducing it), this worked for me.

I tried that and it didn\'t work. However in playing around with some other controls on the TV, I discovered something called "VNR". When I turned that off, the smearing went away.
