Title: ps2 problems
Post by: bowlingg on December 22, 2003, 07:39:29 AM
my ps2 (purchased in the first year they came out) won\'t play any disks that have a blue coating on the readable side of the disk.  does anyone know why that is?  thanks.

Mine had this problem so I put a lens cleaning disk through it and it worked ok afer that. Also the blue disks seem to work better with the ps2 vertical rather than horizontal.

You might have to adjust the power of the laser.  I had the same problem about 1 year ago.  I tried cleaning first (with no success) so I opened up the machine and adjust the lenses.  It fixed the problem for awile, and then it stoped working completely.  I\'d say you have about 6 months before you need to buy a new PS2.
