I\'m just getting started in SSX3 and so far I\'m less than impressed. I beat the hell out of Tricky, so starting again with SSX3 means going back to slow racers and stuff.
But also I\'m just not feeling the track design in the early going and the tiered uber system doesn\'t do much for me. When you reach the second and third tier, you lose the quicker ubers from the first, so it\'s harder to keep tricking.
I also liked the straightforward layout of the last ones. In SSX 3 you have to meander down a slope looking for the level instead of just selecting it and jumping in.
Anyone else into this one? I have a feeling I\'ll enjoy it more once I get a little deeper.

Well, you could just press start, go into transport and find the track there, but I guess that takes too long. I mean, wow! It takes, like, only a few seconds. Too long!
(Is there a rolleyes smilie on this board?)
Don\'t mean to be mean, just attempting a bit of comedy. I failed, right? Oh, god, I\'m so awful at humour. I\'ll just go kill myself now.

Heh, I did find the transport button. I still liked the last game\'s interface better.

yeh there is  =]

i actually way prefer it, i loved the first one, but the second sucked imo
-
Its the best of the three, if you can\'t get into the game then I do not consider you an SSX fan.

Wow, I didn\'t know crappy games had a fanbase...
I rented it over the weekend and man this series is on the verge of biting the dust for me. I have SSX and Tricky, and the whole, "XTREME SNOWBOARDING" bit is getting old. Maybe now is the time they should equip them with machine guns so you can shoot other riders as they pass by.
I\'d buy that.

Heh.
Well I\'ve given it more of a chance and I\'m starting to get drawn in, but I still don\'t like the interface. I\'ve begun upgrading my character, and last night I couldn\'t figure out how to get back to the lodge to increase my stats after I\'d been racing for a while.
Actually, if someone could tell me how to transport to the lodge, that\'d be appreciated.
And I wouldn\'t call this series crappy by any means. The first one was awesome. I loved the semi-sequel (the first one I purchased) and the third one is mostly more of the same from a franchise that isn\'t getting tired yet (see: Tony Hawk). That\'d be my opinion.

ehrm...just go to freeride and select it! for instance red station on peak 1 (if I remember correctly)

I\'m an SSX junky.
I played the hell out of the 1st one, played the 2nd one for awhile. I liked the 1st one better then Tricky which was essentially SSX 1.5
SSX3 is the best of the bunch. The game is a blast. I love the meandering down the mountain part.
The graphics engine has been tuned up some and everything looks sweet. Especially with monster video cables
I also have Dolby DTS set on SSX3 which was not available on the predecescors. The game rocks in the audio department !!!!
I don\'t think I\'ll ever get bored of EA Big games (and I\'m not saying they don\'t toss up a turd once in awhile but ... ), EA Big games represent what I expect from a video game. Over the top fun.
The Gran Turismo series is another series I will never get tired of. I\'m all ready eyeing up the new logitech GT FOrce wheel

it\'s just one on one, haven\'t tried it though....

Enjoyable game indeed. Though I would prefer some control over the camera; at times it\'s hard to navigate when you are forced to look anywhere but where you intend to go. Completing the big challenges on the half-pipe courses became annoying for this reason alone. Regardless, it\'s a fun game. Though, more courses and a couple less characters would be ideal.

well actually, if you set the controls to pro, you can look sideways! haven\'t triedit though...

I can\'t believe ppl still play this game. The first one was ok. Then ssx tricky killed the series. ssx2 tried to save it but man it was too late. I wouldn\'t dare play ssx3.

Oh I swore they had another one after that god awful ssx tricky. I know I remeber seeing commercial maybe it was tricky for xbox.
Anyways tricky sucked

How did you like SSX1 somewhat, but think Tricky sucked? The only reason I could guess is that it was more of the same. And if so, remember it was a Gamecube (Xbox?) launch title so it was brand new to a lot of people, and then they put it out for PS2. (I think.) I didn\'t expect it to go to PS2 at all, but thought EA decided to do it for money.
In my eyes, SSX and SSX Tricky are both the first in the series, and SSX3 is the only sequel we\'ve seen so far.
I haven\'t played it much, but so far I liked Tricky a lot more.

That is what I am saying. Ssx tricky was that just ssx. I mean felt like I was playing the same game. There was nothing new about it. I liked the first but after awhile it gets boring.
-
How can you say that "SSX2" tried to save the series but it was too late, when you haven\'t played it? :)

Just had to quote you again.
You can\'t believe people are playing this game, and yet you\'ve never touched it.

I too liked SSX more than Tricky. I just remember getting the level I think named Untracked and it was just done so much better than the untracked on Tricky, and that was the main reason. The others being that it was more of the same in every other regard.
