When I load web pages in IE6, the pages themselves load ok, but the images never do, I don\'t even get the comforting and friendly little red X, the places where the images should be, remain totally blank and I get the message in the bar at the bottom saying "(xx items remaining) downloading picture http//.......... It seems as though once the page itself loads, all activity stops
This afternoon, it was working ok, and as far as I know, I haven\'t done anything to change that.
Anyone got any ideas how to fix it?

OK, I am going to say it.
The number one question that seems to always fix everything in windows.
did you reboot?

Yes, I also deleted all cookies & temp internet files, it\'s still doing it.

when you right click it and click show picture does it come back?
I run a very clean system and still get the same problem as do TONS of others. I had to right click, show picture right before I posted this. Why MS has never fixed this is a mystery to me.
Many said they have temporarily solved the problem by getting rid of the temp internet files. Also try selecting Always update page on each visit.

have you tried to update the IE6?
-
You should also stop putting your penis in it.

IE falls pretty short of support for some graphics, namely png and svg if I remember right.

There is an XP service pack 2 in beta test stage right at this moment. When this is publicly released it should hopefully fix many of these silly bugs.

I stopped doing that ages ago.

It doesn\'t show ANY images, .gif, .jpeg either.

run windows update....

You may want to change your cache settings. There is also some silly setting in there to prevent image loading.

As politiepet says, run windows update and select IE update. Companies release new versions of programs every few days. They\'re not great updates, but normally fix bugs, change minor configurations, and such things. I\'ve IE 6.0.2800, perhaps you have the original 6.0, with some problems.

I have a problem where I can only save internet pics as .bmp files insteade of .jpg. If you delete your temporary internet files and reboot it solves this problem. Maybe you could try that.

Well if you aren\'t putting your penis on it and it\'s doing it, then the only logical thing would be to go ahead and put your penis on it. It certainly is worth a try.
