Picked up Maximo & onimushia 2 For £30
and i have to say BLODDY hell are they dame fine games, it got me thinking are there any games that have passed you by & its only now that you have picked it up ?
-
Burnout 2
-
Conflict Desert Storm the first one has just gone platinum and it\'s just as good as the second.Quite similar actually,so I wouldn\'t worry about it if you have the second.
-
Maximo sucks
-
I still havent got round to buying ICO, although I have a playable demo and it seems very good.
-
I know it\'s not PS2, but I let Paper Mario for N64 go by for a couple years before I got it.
I have Maximo and Onimusha but never gave them a chance.
One series I\'ve given a miss is Final Fantasy. I\'ve never owned one, though I might give it a go with Crystal Chronicles. I don\'t want to start with a sequel to a game I haven\'t played, and I don\'t have online, so...

The Getaway. I was semi-hyped for it when it first came out, even with the mixed reviews. Went to buy it on release day in the states and found that the one store with games in my area I like to support had a mix up and never received their shipment. I held off getting it at the only other place in town (Wal of-evil-Mart) hoping the other store would come through. They never did, and with a healthy stack of unopened games waiting to be played I lost interest.
I finally got it as an xmas present a year plus later and found out what a great game it really is. Anyone who doesn\'t agree is a bleedin\' wanker :p
ViVi, I\'ve never played Maximo but I\'ve heard enough complaints about it and games I have played like JakII, The Getaway, CastleVainia LoI, to know almost every major \'problem\' people do find to complain about in a game well loved by others is usually a result of their own lack of skill or a general unwillingness to adapt to situations and conditions they at first find very awkward or difficult. I don\'t think you should try to force yourself to love Maximo, just realize there\'s a strong possibility you suck at the game more than the game itself sucks.

I just remembered another one that I let pass was Def Jam Vendetta. I still haven\'t picked it up now that there are rumblings of a sequel, but I\'ve played the hell out of it at a friends house. In the absence of great WWE games, Def Jam is my favorite wrestling title right now.

If you are an RPG fan and haven\'t owned FFX, now its a good time to. For $20, this is a great game for ps2.
-
I have a list of PSX games that I still have to get, aswell as a PS2 list, including DMC, Shinobi, ect.

To me playing ICO was like babysitting. Except I don\'t get to seduce young girls. Oh wait I didn\'t say that. (Please don\'t tell my parole officer)

Exactly. Ico tested my paitence. I hated that game.

LoL @ Rob.
I haven\'t picked up Metroid Prime yet. Should get around to that. I guess I\'m passing it by right now.
-
Hated Metriod Prime also.
Was extremely boring.
-
Yeah but you knew that before the game was even released. :P
-
Metroid Prime and Ico were both awesome so screw you all. :) Star Wars Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast is something I recently started playing despite owning it since it came out. Not bad at all. I\'ve also been playing a lot of Dreamcast games recently as a lot of them have been made available to me as of late. Most of them are rare hard to find shooters so it\'s not so bad in my opinion. Just yesterday I picked up four games I\'ve actually been curious about and have been pleasantly surprised with each including Beyond Good and Evil for the Cube, Metal Arms for the Xbox, Kung Fu Chaos for the Xbox (for party purposes) and Medal of Honor Infiltrator for GBA.
Damn, I have too much to play these days.

I cannot help that I am correct 99.9% of the time.
As for ICO, I fail to see what the fun was in babysitting some girl who only spoke in "crazy bitch" language. Yes, the game was gorgeous but the gameplay was just downright boring.
-
I just thought the whole game, the joy of playing the game anyways, was all very subtle and very beautiful. I\'m not going to explain why here, I\'d rather just link to my review so I can be lazy -- http://www.intensity-magazine.com/reviews/26 I also felt similar about Metroid Prime, but for entirely different reasons as listed here -- http://gamingtarget.com/SectionViewer.aspx?ArticleID=602&SectionID=742

Final Fantasy Tactics for the GBA... What a gem that game has turned out to be thus far...
-
Project Eden.. I was interested in it first, then when it got closer to release other games looked more interesting.. And when it finally came out I had completely lost interest in it (and it didn’t look that fun either).. but after several months I got to test the 20seconds demo.. with co-op play! Since I had almost no other co-op games at that time I ordered PE the same day.
Damn its a fun co-op game (if you are into that kind of slow paced puzzle solving type of game), very underrated.

Off topic: You do know that when you say something like this on a forum, people who haven\'t played the game might think it\'s bad. And yet you know (or at least I\'m pretty sure you know) that a lot of people think this is a fantastic game. This means that there are overwhelming odds that someone who buys the game will like it.
Do you really want that on your consience, to have perhaps persuaded someone through your writing from buying this game, a game that he/she would most likely enjoy playing?
Don\'t take me too seriously, I\'m mostly just joking.
On topic: I\'ve yet to get Ico and Ratchet and Clank. I would like to get them some day, but I doubt I ever will.

Yet another first. I just happened to pic this game up for $7 because i was always interested in it too and then lost interest after revs came out. So with such a low price i had to check it out. The controls were a bitch at first. Now im kinda getting into it. Not too far, but interesting.

dark cloud,final fantasy,star fox adventures,

I played little bits and pieces of both Medal of Honor and Red Faction 2 and enjoyed both a lot. I\'m thinking of stopping by to see if I can pick up used copies somewhere.
Also I\'d like to own Socom, never played that one though

Gotta love her.
Anyway yes it is short, but for the price you could probably get it for now id say its worth it. (cant wait for ICO2)

RF2 is a great game. Met my expectations. I just wish that its multiplayer was online. The multiplayer alone is awesome. The story isnt that profound but the gameplay is fun, and can get semi difficult.
-
Socom, I rented it and only played it for a half hour. I guess I was really busy that week or something.
-
Games I\'ve let go by and wish to pick up in the near future :
Fatal Frame
Kurushi (was IQ Remix even released in Europe?)
Parappa the Rapper
Dancing Stage Megamix
Oddworld : Abe\'s Oddysee
Pikmin
I fell in love with Kurushi and Abe\'s Oddysee when I went through the very first PSX demo disc (Europe demo 1), again. Too bad they\'re pretty damn rare nowadays, it seems, Parappa even more so!
ICO is simply one of the best games ever. I had a friend crash in at my place some nights back, and at about 1am, I suggested we take a look at ICO. We stopped at about 2:40am, when she got grabbed by the ghoulies for the first time. Great for getting female friends to enjoi games with you.

I played this game called Pong. It was like great and stuff. And I was like wtf and it was like shut up dude and I was like wow you can talk and it was like yeah and I was like ok then I\'d better stop and it was like yeah and I was like like being byatchslapped byatch and it was like yeah. So yeah.
-
I bought Dark Cloud and Kingdom hearts this weekend. Can\'t stop playing em both :)
I still want ICO, I played it a bit before, and liked it, but as far as I can tell, it\'s not even available new around here anymore. Gotta look used :(
