Title: Newbie needs tech help
Post by: fatack on December 31, 2003, 07:30:42 AM
I just bought a new PS2 for my kids over Christmas and it worked fine until this morning.  Now when I turn it on, the initial Sony Playstation blurb appears and after that nothing happens - I just get a bunch of static.  It doesn\'t matter what disk I insert or even if there\'s no disk!  Also, for some reason, some times when I turn on the standby switch the drawer pops out by itself.  Is tis thing dead already?  Before trying to send it back to Sony is there anything I can try?  Any suggestions would be welcome.  Please also copy me to my e-mail address (jayant.r@comcast.net).  Thanks so much for any pointers.

If sounds like it is faulty, so I would take it back to the store you got it from and get it swapped.

Yep, make your warranty count. Go to the store and get a new one.
