Cool game, yeah, beat it yesterday. Some points.
-Dungeons subpar. Ooc and MM had better ones, much better ones infact. I still can\'t get over how ****ing amazing every OOc dungeon after you get the master sword is. The Fire, Forest, Water(ugh!), spirit, and that other one were mind bogglingly good. The first two and last dungeons in MM were great too.
-Combat was greatly improved and made a huge difference.
-Link\'s facial expressions are amazing and often humourous.
-Enjoyed the whole going through all the BS to open a dungeon stuff, but seemed like the game was just telling me to go places, pick up this, go there...In Majora\'s Mask opening the dungeons were the funnest part.
-Bosses way too easy, most bosses from all the 3D and hell even 2D Zeldas are. That overgrown Pope was pathetic. I don\'t think I blew a fairy on any of them(blew one on the fight with 3 of those huge skull things though). Ganon was fun...though you could just shield and run a little too easily. Majora\'s Mask without the Oni-Link mask was far more challenging and fun though.
-The spirit and earth dungeons were f\'ing terrible. Having to play that damn song every 10 seconds was annoying and unbearable.
-Grappling Hook and Deku Leaf=****ing great but how many times do we need to see the same weapons?
-Getting all the hearts this time is hella fun as most of the good puzzles emerge here.
-Island aren\'t big enough...don\'t really feel alive. And the market island doesn\'t quite have the feel as the main MM city and Hyrule market. Really that city in Majora\'s Mask was so alive I forgot I was playing a videogame.
-Needs more Hyrule. I loved simply running to Ganon\'s Tower, they need to go back there. The ending kind of killed that dream though. :(
-What happened to the old Link? Did he just get up and leave? He was pretty important for this sequal to be completely ignoring him.
Great game overall though, here\'s the question. Is there a reason to play the second quest besides to see Link in his pajamas?
-
WW could of done in being longer (as in more dungons)
Also the world map could of pack in a lot more (as in moresub quests)
other than that it was a damn fine game.
-
I agree but...
Is there a reason to play the second quest besides to see Link in his pajamas?
Thou mustif answer!

To answer your question: Not Really.
As for the game, the tri-force quest was the stupidest tacked on waste of time ever. The whole game was brilliant until you hit that point. If making the game longer, as ooseven suggests, means that crap, then count me out.
-
I haven\'t noticed anything Jumpman, I\'m collecting the triforce maps atm on the 2nd quest. I must say that this game has amazing replayability.
-
Thanks Vivi, I started playing it expecting to be some differences worth seeing but stopped since I CAN\'T stand him in his pijamas. Back to penis looking green get up.
Ryu...I was so ready to quit the game at that point. Ok, so going on a search for the maps was dreadful enough, but then you had to go and get the pieces from random spots in the ocean and ugh.
If only the map collection requirements had more put into them. I honestly don\'t know why Nintendo would implement such a treasure hunt into it. The only one that was worthwhile was the one where you had to talk to that teacher, get your own house...kind of fun I guess. That puzzle in the house kept me occupied for a good hour. But the other 7 pieces were just a chore really. And to add to that you had to buy the charts for 400 rupies a piece...that worked well after beating all the dungeons before I upgraded my wallet.
Although most of my comments were negative, I\'m still loving it a second time through.
-
Don\'t you get a color camera second go around from the start? I think you could get some extra statues from that. If memory serves me right.
-
For some reason I reserved it an got it first day on launch but never played it again after sailing on that Pirate ship in the first level. I think I\'ll have at it again today.
-
I watched Capcom go through it and eventually picked it up myself. Got about half way through and lost interest, due to the fact I had already seen it all ...-shrugs-

Longer & Crap no :(
Longer with real substance OH YES PLEASE :D
i mean was i the only one that felt cheated when you realise that the fire and ice dungones where just a "one" room deal :(.
I mean they could of made whole levels for them with 2 bosses too... but they didn\'t :(.

The biggest issue in TWW that I can see is length and overall content. What was there was mostly good if not absolutely fantastic, but there should have been a lot more land.. more Windfall-sized islands. Maybe 2 or 3 more big places like that. Also.. more dungeons, obviously; a few extra ones were cut due to time restrictions, FYI.
Also, I\'d tend to agree with you, Jumpman on the downgrade in ingenuity as far as the dungeons are concerned. A few of them were really good, but OoT and LTTP had more and overall better dungeons.
All in all, I had a lot of fun with Wind Waker and I can\'t wait for the next Zelda game but OoT/LTTP are overall better in many respects. Given more time, EAD could have turned out a 100% perfect GameCube prequel but instead we got a slightly flawed masterpiece. IMHO, Metroid Prime eclipses TWW as the most polished GCN game.

Blade I hate to disagree with you, but polished games are not prone to crashes.

Over heard during a session of Retro Studio\'s Metriod Prime...
"...Yes! I got it, now I can go back ....oh shit..that means, I have to go up the elevator...God, I hope it doesn\'t crash...."
"...Walking in the elevator..Please don\'t crash..please don\'t crash....please....YES, IT DIDN\'T CRASH!.."
"Damnit to hell! I forgot something back...I got to use the elevator again..Oh well, at least it\'s not crashing...{player enters elevator}....SHIT! F**KING G**DAMN*T, YOU PIECE OF SH!T ..YOU CRASHED! DAMN YOU RETRO!!"
-
Oh, yes, one technical error that doesn\'t occur in all copies of the game and didn\'t occur frequently in mine (twice overall) marrs the entire experience for you two? Barring The Error the game was stunning.
I\'m sorry that you got screwed on th\' elevator. Both of my errors occurred in other places.. *shrug*

Not really. I just did not like the game in any point...-shrugs-
I just saw the glitch bug and decided I\'d add some commentary.

I\'m totally pwning Zelda the second time round. Have most of the maps, 99 bombs and arrows, and haven\'t even started the later dungeons. Go me. Its teh win.
-
Wind Waker was pretty cool, although it would\'ve been cooler if it had really been subbed "Wand of the Wind" as titled by some mags early on.
I HATED the dungeons. Or, well, didn\'t actually, they were just plain boring. The whole game was just too goddamn easy, allll the way through. And short to boot.
What bugged me the most with the dungeons was that they all concentrated on single-room puzzles, not any of that "grasping the bigger picture" fun to be had as in MM\'s water palace. Suck suck suck.
The thing I enjoyed most, was the occasional atmospheric moment when sailing the seas. Clouds start gathering, you hear thunder strike behind you, gulls gather around the boat... Ninty magik.
I\'ll have to back some day, I\'m still missing 3 or 4 figurines, a couple of maps and 2 heart pieces.
A Link to the Past is still the ultimate Zelda experience.
-
I never got into the figurine game. That would\'ve been fun I bet...
Maybe I\'ll revisit the game too some day.
The thing that got me was how sailing from square to square became tedious, but I didn\'t mind too much. It was fun to explore.

The sailing from square to square is what finally killed my joy of this game.

There\'s a song where you can teleport around you know.

To what 4 or 5 locations? You still end up sailing way too much!
-
I find it\'s only like sailing one square to the other. Never more than two squares it seems.
I like chizzilling in my boat too. :/
-
Seriously I never get hit this game is so easy(playing it a 3rd time around).
