Title: question on death
Post by: clips on January 04, 2004, 09:53:38 AM
i just noticed soon that we will be embarking on that unfortunate day when the shuttle was lost a year ago. which brings me to this...on that day newcasters everywhere stated y\'know they were brave & all & said they felt no pain..their lives were snuffed out in an instant..Now my thing is how do they know that? imean i would think that in that atmosphere they had to feel something at least. like our men & women in iraq when they are blown up & die do they just instantly die? y\'know they say the human head is consious (spell) for 30 secs i think after it\'s been severd.

also when people die in their sleep they say they feel no pain..heart just stops and it\'s over,.. but at the same token when someone has a heart attack it\'s painful and they die..now in no way am i fascinated with death but all this talk in the other threads of snuff kills & such plus the fact that it\'s not too busy at work today my mind is wondering ;)  so bascically just wanted to know if you guys think these people feel pain when they go.

Look on the bright side, no matter how painful your death, once you die, it\'s over and you can\'t remember anything.

The questions is, are you afraid of death?

I\'m.

You say it was an instant death because it makes us feel better.

I\'m not necessarily afraid of death, however I\'m going to miss the great things that life offers.

If Cameron Diaz doesn\'t notice the difference (Something about Mary), I am sure your girlfriend won\'t either. ;)

Back on topic, I can\'t say that I am afraid of death. We cannot change the inevitable and will we all die eventually. The way I see it, if you get used to the thought of death or dying, it won\'t seem as scary.

*realises I\'m too young to die*

One of my mates died for about 2 minutes. He was so pissed of he\'s brain that he\'s heart stopped. The paramedics had to get it going again, but i don\'t think it makes any difference, he\'s brain was still functioning, so he wasn\'t truly dead imo.  Another mate of mine also "thought" he died, when he was so smashed from countless drugs he passed out. He was with 2 other friends and said he saw himself and them outside his own body. Personally i think it was the drugs talking, but you never know.

I\'m not afraid of death. I\'m more afraid of the way i go..

It was the drugs talking.

When I blacked out from my alergic attack over the summer nothing happened.  I just fell and passed out.  I was out for several minutes and my doctor told me I was about as close to death as I should hope to ever be.

I didn\'t see shit.

So you have nothing to live for then? For the most part I think it\'s all talk. If you were faced with death. I could imagine you begging the god you don\'t believe in to save you.

Life has been up and down for me. I have lost very close loves ones.  And I know I value life way more. Because once your gone your gone. That is why I try to keep and positive attitude and not let ppl bring me down.

Allright gotta be the medical person here since it appears I\'am the only one that went to nursing school.... Clinically dead is way different than just being dead. Basically if your clinically dead your heart has stoped and your being kept alive by artifical means. But you usually still have brain activity. Most of the life after death experinces of "dead" people are usually reported by the people who experience "clinical" death. That being said why cant it be just a dream? You dream a whole bunch of crap in that three minutes you pass out watching football and waken to falling.

Im scared shitless of dieing I love life way to much but I would want to live at this age (31) or a little younge would have been nice forever.

I guess im afraid of it. Personally, if there was nothingness due to the fact that life wasnt anything planned, then that would suck. To have a mind and then no thought at all is really pretty stupid and boring. I cant imagine being nothing. No dreams, or anything.

Im sure it will hurt the way i go out. Dying in our sleep is a luxury our kind rarely experiences.

I guess we\'ll never know the truth until we die...unless there is no truth, and then we are just dead, and no truth be known, back to the earth, without knowing...er...never mind...
