If its in all of windows, go to a a folder such as my documents, and click Tools - Folder Options -  Double click to open an item.

yeah, just go to the control panel folder options and select double-click to open an item (single-click to select)

it is on double-click to open an item. Its not that its opening things in one click, but the actual button clicks twice when i press it once. for ex: if i have two windows up, and i click the x in the top right to close it, it will also close the one behind it. I really dont want to format over something small like this

edit: I inverted the buttons (left button= what the right was/vice versa) and it isnt doing it anymore. I dont get it because i dont think the button is broken. Iv only had it for a couple years and i havnt hit it er anything, it just randomly started happening. I might try to get used to my right button being the main one but it feels weird.

edit again: came to the conclusion that its the hardware...but im too poor to get a new mouse, lol. guess ill get used to right clicking a lot

Can you afford 2 dollars? I am pretty sure shipping is free.

Or for another buck you can have a color mouse!
