Well, it\'s official life sucks.
Was pulling out of the parking lot at work the other night, my window started to frost over, I thought I\'d pull over where the semi\'s do and defrost my window. I looked out my window, didn\'t see anyone, went to pull in, BAM, hit another car in the side.. A piece of junk car at that.
Tried to drive it home, but the front bumper / fender was pushed inside the tire. Doesn\'t look to be to bad of damage..-shrugs-. My first wreck.
Just hopin\' insurance doesn\'t give me a problem. I\'ve got full coverage, I admit it was my fault, but I forgot to get a police report. No one was hurt. We exchanged information and what not. It never occures to me to get a police report, after all, I was a nervous wreck (no pun intended!).
{Hope\'s that the car is totalled. Hates the expensive payments}
Anyone else got any more interesting wreck stories?

This is why I think 16 y/o should not drive ;) :p
In all seriousness, that sucks :(
I have not wrecked my car yet, but I remember when my father crashed. He was going to work and was hit by a car coming from the one-way street (he was driving the wrong direction).. I cant believe the other guy tried to blame my father afterwards.
The whole front of the car got smashed in (our beautiful container... I mean Volvo!), luckily it could be repaired.

I\'m not sixteen, numb nuts.

I haven\'t been in a two-party accident that was my fault. It was always their fault.
One car did a 180 degree turn after he lost control and I slammed into his car. His insurance paid.
Another car backed out of a parking space without looking. His insurance paid.
A third car was behind me and lightly bumped my car coz he wasn\'t paying attention. No damage.
I did have one "my fault" accident but I was alone. I spun out in the snow. :)

i got into an accident about 2 weeks ago. I was working midnights. 10pm-8:30am. Long story short I ended up falling asleep at the wheel. Woke up airbag was hitting me in the face.
It is only by god I am here. I was on a really bad street. Nothing but huge trucks always coming and going. The officer said it is the most dangerous street in the state of MI. More ppl die on it than anywhere else.
I cross like 4 lanes to other side of the road. It is a miracle of god that I am here right now.

You should also thank the years of inginuity by engineers and car designers who learned to design better cars from those who passed away due to car accidents. :)

From your description, I would guess that your insurance company will NOT declare the car totaled. With suspension damage, I\'ve noticed they usually only do that when two or more corners are destroyed. Then again, it also depends on the car and the cost of replacement parts. I would guess the Celica is not extremely expensive to repair, compared to some other vehicles.
I hope your deductable is not too high. I wish I could give you some advice on negotiating the repairs, but I\'ve never done that before. They will probably say you have to have the work done at a shop they specify, and it will be a cheapo place that uses aftermarket, non-OEM parts. I\'m not sure how to go about fighting that, but you should start reviewing the fine print in your insurance policy. Good luck.

So...how much are you worth.....DEAD? ;)

I think it was my parents. ;) The car was totalled with under the hood problems needing fixed, everything on it was going wrong. Then after driving it completely ghetto (you all have no idea) for about 6 months I told my parents I didn\'t feel safe driving it anymore. Then the next day it happened and I kinda just coasted into someones rear end.
-
Never had a crash in 10 years of driving.
*Jumps in car and reverses into lampost* :D
-
I\'ve never had a crash either. Well, actually I was stopped at a light and was rear ended, but I can\'t exactly say that was my fault.
-
I\'ve been in 3 accidents, none my fault. Insurance sucks, they try to screw you whenever they get the chance:
- Estimations are almost always off, then they have to go to the body shop and talk to the mechanics to get the real figures. But they don\'t know where it is so they have to call you to get directions. But they call your home in the afternoon so you\'re not there. Couple more days pass they call again asking where the place is.... etc....!!!!
- That and after years of you shoveling them money they could drop you in an instant if you get in 1 crash that determines you as a liability. Full-coverage or not. I\'ve seen it happen multiple times.
:rpissed:

Go to 3 places that you know will overcharge you for the repairs. Get the money, and go to a less expensive place. This will cover the deductable.

Never got in an accident in 2 years of driving, and have yet to recieve a ticket.
I\'ve been lucky twice though. One time the roads were slick from rain that brought up all the hot desert oil from the street up, and a green light hit yellow, and because I had only been driving a month, I hesitated, tapped the brake, then decided to run it... The light was red for two second as I was about to cross the intersection when a guy from my right was making a left turn and I swerved to my left really hard, and lost control momentarily.
Second was I was being an idiot and kept looking over my shoulder to pass this ridiculously slow car in front of me, and from the corner of my eye I saw it stopped and I slammed on the brakes and was mere inches away from his bumper.

Already talked to them and it\'s all settled. Said get an estimate and the check would be mailed. Told the other guy the same thing. It helps that the policy is in my dad\'s name and the manager of the company is one of my dad\'s old friends.
I was really scared that see\'ing as I didn\'t get a police report it\'d cause a problem, but they said they didn\'t need one.
My deductiable is $500.

Good for you! :thumb:
A small insurance story:
Awhile back my friend bought a 2002 Mustang convertible. Two months after buying it some uninsured wacko lady hit him from behind at a stop sign. His insurance company looks at the damage and offers $287.00 to repair a brand new bumper that had multiple divots/creases and scratches because of this accident.
$287.00! They wouldn\'t even spring for the extra three dollars to make it an even $300.00. Luckily the body shop had the adjuster come look at the car at the shop to set him straight.

It still sucks though. I can\'t drive my baby! The front bumper / fender is pushed up in the wheel, so I can\'t drive it. Can\'t get a rent a car, because I\'m not 21. Argh! I hope it warms up abit, go skydiving or bungee jumping and get rid of some of this stress..
Never wrecked before and I have to say it sucked. I felt so bad about hitting that lady. I mean, I didn\'t do it on purpose, but she had three kid\'s in the back and that scared the living hell out of me. Infact, I don\'t think I have ever been more scared.
-
I\'ve been driving for 2 weeks (well license) and haven\'t had any problems yet. I did get hit in the back over the summer on my permit but it wasn\'t bad. Just a little ding in my mom\'s bumper that isn\'t even noticeable. You have to know its there. I was at a redlight. It wasn\'t my fault.

Three kids. No seatbelts. Hit the backseat / driver side door. Trust me, I was scared to death.
