FEAR STRIKES CLOSE TO HOME IN KONAMI\'S SILENT HILL 4: THE ROOM
Terror Arrives on PlayStation®2 and Xbox™ in Fall 2004
REDWOOD CITY, CALIF. - January 9, 2004 - Leading videogame publisher, Konami Digital Entertainment - America, a subsidiary of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today unveiled plans for a fourth terrifying installment of the wildly popular Silent Hill series. Continuing to blur the lines between reality and horrific alternate worlds, Silent Hill 4: The Room for the PlayStation®2 and Xbox™ is set to once again strike terror into the hearts of gamers in Fall 2004.
Taking the series in a new direction, apprehension and fear immediately run high when the new main character, Henry Townshend, finds himself trapped in his own cursed apartment. Only by exploring mysterious portals leading to disturbing alternate worlds will Henry begin to uncover clues as to why he is trapped. However, in true Silent Hill fashion, mysterious new characters, horrendous creatures, and the undead will use any means necessary to impede his progress. A tense atmosphere and grotesque enemies will get the player\'s heart thumping as Silent Hill 4 delivers a gameplay experience that fans and newcomers will never forget.
Using state of the art technology, the development team has effectively created bone-chilling effects to add to the game\'s creepy atmosphere. Players will be able to see changes in environments over time, as the alternate world seeps into reality. In addition, Silent Hill 4 shifts between the first and third-person perspective, which is a first for the series. Beautifully detailed environments, a haunting soundtrack and the game\'s trademark psychological horror complete Silent Hill 4\'s overall fear factor as players travel between the room and their worst nightmare.

So what about Silent Hill 3? Xbox fans just going to pretend it never existed?
-
Strange.I thought Konami announced "no more games for XBOX" except from PES3.
-
Konami sucks...so they say things.
/methinks Silent Hill 3 was one too many.
-
^No dude, Konami is great. I just finished SH3, great game after
SH2 even if I didn\'t play SH1. Anyway, 2004 is gonna be the year
of both MGS3 Snake Eater and MGS Twin Snakes, not counting pc gaming.

Because they are idiots. No 2D Castlevania for a home console?
IDIOTS!

With that logic Capcom sucks too
*stares at his DMC2 copy and the Street Fighter EX series* :p
I agree on that though. They almost killed the series with the 3D versions of castlevania. *now thinks of the crappy N64 and PS2 ones*.But you cant deny they make great titles.

I always thought Capcom was subpar I can\'t remember the last game I enjoyed from them.
pfff. You dont even know why you believe they suck
Because when I play their games(MG, CV), I say to myself, "wow, this game sucks".
Anyone who rates MGS an above average game is simply an idiot.

Maybe Silent Hill 3 on Xbox?

pc.ign.com has posted a preview of Konami\'s upcoming Playstation 2 and Xbox horror/survival thriller, Silent Hill 4: The Room.
Apropos for the surreal survival-horror series, Silent Hill 4 The Room stars new lead character Henry Townshend, and features an all new storyline based around the disturbing alternate reality of Silent Hill. Starting the game in a different way, Konami traps Townshend inside his own apartment, and in this way the team means to create the unnerving feeling of solitary confinement. The video we saw showed what looked like the door to his apartment chained closed from the inside, using dozens of padlocks and what seemed like 10 or so chains, rendering the door useless. After an entire week of being trapped, Townshend finds strange portals have appeared in his bathroom and desides there is no other way out, so... These portals? They lead to to alternate worlds in one way or another related to Silent Hill, and only after entering them does our new character learn just what kind of trouble he\'s truly in.
I was pretty sure I had read that Silent Hill 3 was in development for the Xbox. I\'ll contact our Konami representative and see if I can get the official word.[/color]

Thats very Strange...i am 100% sure that Konami said that James Sunderland would be the main character.
&
the Room would be about the "video" tape room in the hotel.

There are so many things wrong with your statements above. In fact all of your statements are silly.

^ Agreed. Give me one valid reason why Konami would suck. You can\'t. They provide games which feature a combo of good gameplay along with a good serious plot ; in the form of the Silent Hill and Metal Gear series, for example. These games don\'t force, but they encourage you to reflect upon the content of their message. Stuff like \'what we selectively pass on to future generations\' in MGS2 and \'dealing with beloved ones who are terminally ill\' in Silent Hill 2. Don\'t give me bullcrap on how a person can go to a movie or read a book for serious stories ; there is no fvcking rule on earth that serious content should be restricted to those media and videogames being ruled out. I\'d say thumbs up at least for Konami who try to make their videogames more than mere \'toys\'.
Of course they are a company, but at least their games show the ppl who made them still have \'heart\' for what they earn a living with, unlike EA who sell out at any opportunity. Team Silent Hill are quite unconventional as they are more like an organized group of fine artists, then a buncha 9 to 5\'s. They are highly talented and like Kojima\'s team they always serve high production values which shows in their games. Sure, anyone can go play their \'FUN\' games by other devs with their \'supposedly superior gameplay\', but don\'t go talking crap about the Konami games you don\'t care for without giving even a single good reason.

Couldnt be said better
I like this guy ^

If you\'re saying MGS as in the PSONE version, then you are sadly mistaken.
Oh, and name some games you like, since I can\'t remember your favs that well.

a "Jumpman sucks" smilie would be most appropriate :D
