It\'s not another DOA.  It\'s a wrestling game and there are three seperate teams making it including yukes who is responsible for the gameplay (and has been responsible for all the previous WWF Smackdown games as well).  What\'s best about this is that it may be something that appeals to the hormones of all men, but it also, unlike DOA, may just have great gameplay.  So it\'s something you can buy for fun while feeling ashamed of all at the same time!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 09, 2004 - Konami today announced at its Gamers\' Day press event that Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and renowned grappling developer Yuke\'s would be teaming up to produce a unique wrestling title exclusively for the PlayStation 2. Made in conjunction with CG movie gurus, Polygon Magic VSL, WWX: Rumble Rose could definitely turn out to be one of the more unusual (and most likely popular) games this coming November.

"WWX is a powerhouse combination with some of the best wresting action found on any platform, sexy female models, audacious poses and bold moves - all delivered with state-of-the-art graphics for a visually stunning game," said Akari Uchida, producer, Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo.

"When Konami approached us with the concept, we could hardly wait to get started," said Yuke Taniguchi, president of Yuke\'s Entertainment. "We are excited to develop a new style of wrestling game - one that provides a high quality wrestling experience, but also introduces humor and a whole lot more sex appeal."

Though it is planned to be a graphics-intensive experience, Rumble Rose will also feature an interesting combat system that allows players to develop unique styles for their wrestlers. Players will be able to change the personalities of their wrestlers through their actions in the ring, which will then translate into changes in costume, attitude, and wrestling style options. Insults and taunts will prove a lot more important here than in your typical wrestling title too, and many of the maneuvers are said to leave opponents in, what we will call, "compromising positions".

At press time, only two different characters have been officially revealed: Dixie Clemets (country western cowgirl) and Reiko Hinomoto (classic Japanese female wrestler). Each one boasts a unique array of moves like the Dixie Buster, Double Moonsault, and the classic German Suplex, and their methods of pulling them off are quite "interesting."

Definitely more along the lines of games like Def Jam Vendetta or Backyard Wresting, this over-the-top grappler should definitely spark some conversation around the coffee cooler. Click on our media page below for a first look at the game\'s renders and check back with us again over the next few months for updated information and impressions.

here is the IGN quote to make up for things.

WWX: Rumble Rose Update

At a press event held today in San Francisco, Konami formally announced its upcoming wrestling game, WWX: Rumble Rose. The PlayStation 2 game is being developed in part by Konami\'s Tokyo division, along with famed wrestling game developer Yuke\'s and Polygon Magic, who helped create some of the models used in Tecmo\'s upcoming Xbox game Ninja Gaiden as well as Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

While we\'ve already covered the basics of Konami\'s announcement, a few more details were revealed when representatives from KCET and Yuke\'s took to the podium.

For starters, a big part of the gameplay in WWX will be humiliating your opponent. When done properly, this will break a girl\'s spirit and cause her to give up. However, this tactic can backfire and can cause an opponent to enter a charged-up state, thus giving her new moves to choose from. There is no final count for playable characters, and details like potential online capabilities are also still being researched. The game will be designed for at least two players, though there is a possibility of it being a four-player game. This decision hinges on the quality of the player models and whether or not the PlayStation 2 can handle these models--which Konami claims will include "some of the best graphics on the PS2." The high quality standards for these models will also prevent the game from having a create-a-wrestler mode. Additionally, the developers are thinking about including topless player models in the game, though no final decision appears to have been made at this time.[/b][/color]

Aside from the gimmick-laden concept of an all-female wrestling game, Yuke\'s is also working hard to ensure that WWX is more than just a pretty face. The developer is out to make sure WWX is "the definitive wrestling game."

All these features certainly sound interesting, though only a short CG intro clip of girls dancing to David Lee Roth\'s "Yankee Rose" was shown at the event. We\'ll have to wait until E3 in May to see a playable version of the game. We\'ll have more details on WWX: Rumble Rose as soon as they become available.

No movie to link to.  I got the pic from Games Press, but you need a password to get in. It\'s a media and press release site for... well, media and press.

The other allegedly in-game photos just show the girls standing at the entrance way.

Remember, this game is scheduled for November, so anything you look at is still very early in the process and should be taken with a grain of salt.

And that\'s the first I\'ve seen about a topless model. That wasn\'t in the press releases, I\'d label that a rumor. It even says the developers are only considering it.

I say, do it. :)

Don\'t get too excited, ooseven.  I contacted Konami\'s PR rep and asked if the topless model rumor was true, not true, or still undecided.  He said:

Girl-on-Girl Wrestling Action Heading to PlayStation 2.

By DAN DOLL
In what can only be described as a fit of marketing genius, Konami has announced a wrestling title that will surely appeal to every man\'s perverted, inner-thirteen-year-old-child.

With its emphasis on sexy female characters, "WWX: Rumble Rose" will follow in the footsteps of titles such as THQ\'s "WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain" for PlayStation 2 and Namco\'s "Dead of Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball" for Xbox.

"Dead or Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball" gave players a chance to hit the beach with several bouncy babes from the beautiful "Dead of Alive" series of fighting games. In the end, that one turned out to be more of a voyeuristic, guilty pleasure than a volleyball game.

"Smackdown" was a little more subtle in its female flaunting. Tucked inside its complete World Wrestling Entertainment experience, "Here Comes the Pain"
offers an option for pitting two female wrestlers against each other in the aptly titled "Bra and Panties Match." First woman stripped to her skivvies is the loser.

"WWX: Rumble Rose" looks to find a happy medium in gratuitous sex appeal by balancing a roster of half-naked ladies with some solid wrestling gameplay.

Konami and "Smackdown" developer Yuke\'s Entertainment are promising an intuitive control scheme that encourages players to string together moves and taunts to create unique attacks.

Players can change the personality of their favorite grappler by choosing to fight dirty or fair. The resulting persona will manifest itself through changes in costume, attitude and wrestling style.

Konami promises popular wrestlers will earn benefits including additional moves and more revealing and flamboyant costumes.

"When Konami approached us with the concept, we could hardly wait to get started," Yuke Taniguchi, president of Yuke\'s Entertainment, said in a recent press release. "We are excited to develop a new style of wrestling game - one that provides a high quality wrestling experience, but also introduces humor and a whole lot more sex appeal."

An early build of the game will be available to the press in March, but don\'t expect this one to reach store shelves until November at the earliest.

"WWX: Rumble Rose" has not yet been rated by the Entertainment Software Association. The real question is if there will be enough controversial material to push this one from a Teen rating to Mature.

Oh, and fans of Acclaim\'s "BMX XXX" take note, the women of "Rumble Rose" will be staying securely in their tops for this one.
