Title: Cars in Oz
Post by: GigaShadow on January 11, 2004, 08:40:47 AM
GM brought the GTO in from Oz and now Ford is considering a 4 door Cobra aka 290kW V8 FPV GT (nice long name).

What the hell is that Pursuit Boss thing?  A new vehicle for Mad Max IV?

They are really nice cars. Alittle too big for my tastes and pretty heavy.

They go like rockets though. Wheres the news article for it being released as a Cobra?

I like coupes. I\'m not a big fan of these long wheel base sedans. They are ok if your a family man, but I just don\'t understand why Australian car manufactuers have this mentality that only these big hotted up family sedans will sell.

I mean, imagine a FPV medium wheel base coupe sized car like a WRX for instance with 290KW V8! Nice. Sure, the engines are heavy, but the power to wieght has to be better. I love the styling, and I think they would look great as coupes. The Monaro is getting there, but its still very big.

They are nice cars, but I just wish Aussie companies, in particular Ford and Holden, would create some nice sized coupes with similar power. Mitsubishi AU and Toyota AU seem to have it right.
