This comes from "I\'m a freaking Star Wars Dweeb.net"

I guess there may be more SW movies for Big Log\'s kids to rag on.
EP3: Mahyew Also Signed for Sequel Trilogy?
Wed, Jan 14, 04 05:10:30 PM EST
Rob tells us that the December 2003 issue of the British movie mag HOTDOG has just hit the stands here in the U.S. and found several cool Star Wars related things. In particular, on page 12, here\'s this possibly amazing passage:
"No wonder Peter "Chewbacca" Mayhew is smiling. Not only has he been rescued from obscurity and given the chance to reprise his role as our Wookiee comrade for Episode III, but his contract also stipulates that he\'d be required to appear in Episodes 7, 8, and 9.
Yes folks, seems there are actual whispers at Lucasfilm that the \'sequel\' trilogy might be in the works..."
In addition, there\'s a cool spoiler page (though nothing new for TheForce.net regulars) with a great caricature of Hayden as Anakin/Vader. The cover "story" is a list of the "50 Coolest Movie Characters Ever". #22 is Boba Fett, #13 is Indiana Jones, and #3 is Darth Vader! There\'s also a "Brief History of Time" according to the movies. It begins with "A Long Time Ago".
Please. Be. True. Of course, remember that the official word from Lucasfilm has been and is currently "no." We\'ll email them for a comment on the story and post any updates here.

OH NO!!NO MORE STAR WARS
-
yea, i\'m a starwars fan, but 7, 8 and 9.. its goin abit overboard. In the end it\'s gonna KILL what starwars was. Classic. :)
-
I think they should just call them:
Star Wars: The ILM Demo Reel Sequel #1 - 3
-
I still don\'t see the appeal of Boba Fett & why he high on that film list, i mean from just the FILMS.
he looks like the MOST useless Bounty hunter EVER.
Its only till you read the books you understand.
-
ooseven, your avatar looks freaky. I think she is staring at my wanker.
-
Boba Fett #22?
Bullshit, he should be higher than that.
If DV is #3, then BF should be in top 5 at least.

I agree with you totally since they are gonna do them (from what I heard) about Lukes Jedi Academy. BUT, if they do something about the rise of the Second Imperium vs. The New Republic, I think that would be a much better approach. Not only will it be full of action, it will be a totally new approach. What would be even better is if they used the original techniques in the early 80s with the original trilogy.

You mean like little model ships and muppets?
Sounds like crap.
-
It would be more like the originals than if all digital and make the past more futuristic than the future. Doesn\'t it seem funny that in Ep 1 & 2 it was more futuristic than the original movies?

I think it might have been a better idea to do the sequels in the first place.
Knowing the intricacies of most/all of the mysteries of Episodes 4-6 really hurt their impact overall. Sure, knowing exactly what went down is pretty cool (Episode 3 will be good for this reason) but in general I would have liked to see a sequel trilogy more. Perhaps Lucas simply couldn\'t think of another threat big enough to top the Sith..
-
It should also be noted that Mayhew\'s(actor - Chewbacca) new contract for Episode 3 stipulated that he would be required to appear in Episodes 7,8 and 9 if ever made. So, there is for sure some idea\'s being thrown around.

I never looked at it like that before. It would have actually put more hype in Episodes 1-3. But who knows what the outcome would have been. If they did something stupid, they could have killed the series all together.

As far as Episodes 1 - 3 goes, they are just proof that Lucas did not have a story, if at anything, he had a very , very basic outline.
With episodes 7-9, there are a lot of stories that they could cull from. The new Jedi order, just being one of the many.
Do I think it\'ll happen? Of course. Remember that Lucas said there would never be 1-3, after Jedi, but after time passed, he decided it was time for the prequels. I believe the same will happen with 7-9, though I do not look for Lucas to direct them and maybe not even write them.

They killed it already.I loved the first trilogy but the new trilogy seems tolack.Especially Episode 2.I liked Episode 1 which I didnt find superb. But it I believe it was good.but not at all as good as any of the episodes of the first trilogy

Star Wars as a whole is terribly overrated.
-
Actually episodes 7,8, and 9 are about Grand Admiral Thrawn. Those are by far the best of all of them, even surpassing the original 3 movies. The space battles will be awesome, if they actually make 7-9.

Those were not written by Lucas though were they? If memory serves me right. What you are talking was farmed out.

That would be sweet if it is. That probably could redeem the Star Wars series, but if they are terribly done, they could kill it. IMO, I hope they do the sequel three on Grand Admiral Thrawn and put some really sweet ships and battle scenes in the movie.
